I have just been reading the Derbyshire Times and it makes very interesting reading regarding players wages in League 2

Anyone who thinks we don't pay that much might take a look at the article

We pay more than Newport, Bromley and also Harrogate

Was surprised to see Accys player wages is higher than Crewe

Carlisle was the highest at 5.4 million almost three times our wage for players

Our figure includes Rhys Williams at £8K a week which we obviously aren't paying. Plus the other loan players as well

Harrogate offered Gibson a better deal than we could do doubt their budget is less than ours.

Harrogate 1,532,388

Morecambe 1,766,596

Crewe 1,865,760

If the figures are accurate we pay Adam Lewis, Edwards, Ray and McAdam more than Harrogate pay Gibson

I wouldn’t trust those figures personally. The only way of getting true wage figures would be from each clubs accounts and those numbers would include non playing staff wages.

Yeah any website claiming to know what salary any player is on is just having you on. There's no way they could know unless the players were disclosing it, which they won't be.

Even if its exaggerated to some degree we are far away from the worst budget in the league as is often claimed .

Wow, so that means the average player is on £80K a year. No wonder football is in a mess.
