Midlife Crisis - The Video

In celebration of my upcoming 40th birthday I have decided to tick one of my ambitions off my list, which is to throw myself out of a perfectly good aeroplane and hope that I don't plummet to my death!

If I am going to do this, it would be great to raise money for my companies charity Leukaemia Research. A fantastic and worthwhile cause dedicated to eradicating blood cancer. If you are unfortunate to know anyone who is or has suffered from any form of cancer you will know it is just horrific.

The jump is booked for Saturday May 16th. Not long off! :?

I am paying all of the jump fees myself so all the money that you kindly donate will go directly to the cause. Please sponsor me and help me raise my personal target of £500. With around eight weeks to go it is a big ask I know, but it will give me the courage to go through with it.

I know money is tight at the moment and that many of you have kindly donated to other causes recently, but even if you have a pound to spare, it all adds up!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leukaemia Research gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you in advance of any kind support! :D

Respect Mark.

That's something quite frankly I haven't got the bottle for.

Donation to a fine cause on its way.

Was it tanks that used to have at least 2 parachutes when they dropped 'em out of transport planes in the war?

It'd take more than bloody 2 for me to do it.....that's for certain!

I ran the Manchester 10km in aid of the same charity last year. they are a very worthy cause and I will more than gladly sponsor you £10 mark.
good luck with the jump, if your feeling a bit nervous just remember your actually more likely to die in a plane crash then doing a parachute jump! since you'll have a parachute on in this particular plane journey you've already improve your chances no end! ;)

To land in the center circle with the match ball for our 1st game at the new stadium,
now just think how much that would raise 8-) 8-) 8-)

Was that a subtle hint to the fact you are travelling in fancy dress to Shrewsbury - for no apparent reason.

Where is my Burt Reynolds moustache :?:

You're not making me squeal like a pig   ;)

Or are you from Beverley?

Wow! :o

Getting very close to my target. :D

Many thanks to the latest Shrimpsvoicers who are kindly sponsoring me

Marky, Martin, Darren Clifford, Curly and Barry (SlackAlice)

I am overwhelmed with gratitude.

Thanks for helping with a fantastic cause. I met with the area organiser for LR today and she has reaffirmed my belief that every penny is going to saving lives. Amazing breakthroughs have happened in the last 12 months all thanks to donations like these.

Thank you

Neil G ( I know you are still around ;) ), Keith, Morecambe Mick and Punkisdead and Keith Parry (via a personal donation at the last game) are the latest generous souls who are helping save lives. Thanks guys!

Nearly there at my target now. Thanks to everyone who has so far supported this great cause. :D

Meet you for a pint in Exeter next Saturday before the game, and I'll give you a cheque for £25.
If Shrimps get a point at Rotherham I'll increase it to £35.
If Shrimps beat Rotherham I'll increase it to £50.
Time and venue of your choice.

Thankyou very much Peter. I cant believe that I would be disappointed with £25 when that is very generous. I am really hoping for £50 off you! A lot of hard earned money and much appreciated.

Got to say thanks to Paul Mac who thrust some money at me during the euphoric aftermath of the Bradford game and to Jimmy G for his donation at Fat Knackers on Thursday. Cheers guys!

I have been blown away with peoples generousity (not only from here but from work colleagues too!). I am pleased to say that I have gone through my £500 target and now have a dilemma as to be satisfied with that or push on and get as much as I can for Leukaemia Reaserch. Got to be the latter really! :D

It is an important cause dedicated to saving lives. If you can spare anything from £1 upwards it all adds up. Every penny you donate is going directly to the charity, I have paid the fees myself as it has been a personal ambition.

Thanks again to everyone who has contributed so far.

Peter, I will find a venue ;)

Remind me at Exeter on Saturday mate and I'll add my support.
In my new job I see people getting treated for this and other horrible diseases day in day out - it's quite a humbling experience.

Mark, as you know I was waiting till close to the end in case you had'nt met your target but that's all out of the window now  Instead I will donate £10 for every goal we score in the last 3 matches (Rotherham, Exeter, Bournemouth) O.G.'s NOT included!

Hopefully I will owe you £100 a week on Saturday! :D
