O/T FA Cup monies

O/T FA Cup monies

As a result of replays no longer being played should games involving both non league and EFL 1 clubs in Round 3 against Premiership opposition be mandatory for the entire gates receipts be payable to the lower league club?

In our case as well as Accrington do both Chelsea and Liverpool as examples really need the money which to lower league clubs could be a welcomeaddition to their financial position?

In a fair world you would be right but we are not in a fair world and I can't see the premier league clubs agreeing to it.

The FA don't give a crap about any team outside the top half of the Premier League.

The Top Clubs: "We don't want replays"
The FA: "Okay"
The FA: "Will you give extra money to lower league sides?"
The Top Clubs: "No"
The FA: "Okay"

The FA: "Would you like to tickle our tummy while we roll over and submit?"
The Top Clubs: "No, now f*** off and wait until we next tell you what to do"
The FA: "Okay"

The FA & Premier League should grow a pair. Tell the top clubs who want to, to f*** off and form their European Super League. BUT no playing in domestic cups, and no relegation/promotion out of it. I reckon within a decade of American Football style, no promotion or relegation, the European League would simply be a TV attraction for Asian & North American fans, while European fans will move away from it, back to their own domestic leagues. European Cup & Champions League for Europes domestic sides.

It will never happen of course. So the life will continue to be sucked out of the game.

As a realistic option [that also would never happen]. Before each tie, both clubs are offered the option of forfeiting the game if level after 90 minutes. This year, if Spurs had decided they didn't want a reply, they'd have gone out and Tamworth would still be in the competition. Or, Spurs would have rejected the option, and had a replay. Clubs decide what they want and face the consequences.

its a shame how top teams don't take the FA cup serious.

i don't think people realise the impact when they stopped the old “European Cup Winners Cup” it was an extension of the FA Cup where you went straight into another knock out stage playing Europes domestic Cup winners, fans loved it, it was a short trip to Europe making memories.

Didn't the winners of the League Cup qualify for a European tournament too?

Yep, Europe League.

8th place Man Utd played in Europa League as they won the FA Cup
Liverpool won the League Cup so 6th place Chelsea went into the Conference League.
Newcastle finished 7th but got Sweet FA
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

You're missing the point, different format.

The Europa Leage is for teams who finish outside the champions league places, chucked into the mix with the winners of domestic cups.

The European Cup Winners Cup, was exactly that, like I explained in my original post
