The Thomas Parsons Refereeing Award

And the winner of the Thomas Parsons Award for biased, incompetent refereeing goes to today's official Sam Purkiss - a worthy winner of the prize sponsored by Colchester United. Thomas Parsons for those of short memories is the referee who sent off one of our players and gave Wrexham every decision when we last played them. It was a surprise he didn't join in the celebrations when Wrexham scored the winning goal. The overall standard of refereeing is poor but Messrs Parsons and Purkiss are beyond poor. Why are they officiating in the Football League?

Because there simply aren't enough refs. Get rid of these two (And a fair few others) and replace them with???

Enjoy it while it lasts, the refs in the National League will be even worse

(Parsons playing for Wrexham was the worst display of biased refereeing that I've ever seen).

I know you keep banging on about the National League, Keith, but the optimism is being sucked out of a lot of us and it is clear that many devoted fans feel the same.
We will continue to support the team and hope for some sort of miracle or change in fortune.

While there is a glimmer of hope, then yes, we have to hope for a miracle, but each game, that miracle gets a little less likely. We're very close to being cut adrift.
