Second half of season.(do we still have belief?)

We are in the second half of the season now and as Songo’o said yesterday every game is a up final now.

Nothing from the first half of the season has disheartened me more than the lack of goals, especially after losing 8 games by 1 goal. We are a team who have competed well in most games and yes you make your own luck, but we really haven’t had the rub of the green and long term injuries have cost us.

Look at those first 10 games  disallowed goals, soft penalties against us etc, etc. and we got the worst of starts with a lowly 4 points out of 30. We followed that up with 16 points from 14 games, not fantastic but form that you would expect to give you a great chance of keeping you in the League with 22 games still to go. (that form would yield 24-27 points). Hopefully we are better than that so end up with more.

So we have just had a win on the first game of the second half of the season and the pleasing thing for me was we got a bit of luck, at last, how the ball fell to Stott for our second goal off a defender right to him 3yrds out, Long may that continue.

It wasn’t looking good but we have managed to put ourselves in the mix. Home form is now crucial for us we need results like yesterdays and with our away form being decent for the bottom team we are back in to the mix of say 5-7 teams.

It’s up to us and new arrivals will be pivotal to that and the key is winning the games against those teams, that’s how we will rise above them. Morale in the squad seems high and it was good to go home after winning yesterday.

Up the Shrimps.
