If budget allows we need at least 4 players

Goalkeeper
Creative Midfielder
Winger with pace
Forward who knows what a net looks like and can hit it

We have a good goalkeeper.....but he's injured (again)
We have a good pacy winger.....but he's injured
I agree about the creative midfielder and striker.

No "maybe" about it. He's top of the list for shipping out, for his own future as much as ours. I'm one who repeatedly called for him to be given a run, but he clearly has fallen out with Derek (or visa-versa) so needs to move on ASAP.

Moore is out for "weeks". Given the short period that he lasted before becoming injured again, I think we need a keeper in January.

£168K
That’ll probs to keep the wages ticking over
And if it’s the person interested in buying the club how come he keeps bailing us out but cannot prove his credibility to the EFL

Income from abroad? Income from sources frowned upon by the EFL? Cannot prove sustainability of funds? Just cannot prove he has the required funds to buy the Club? 4 of many more reasons in all probability?

My thoughts are, if he succeeds will he be any better in the long run than our current owner?

His statement a few weeks ago are now hollow and weak words no better than our current owner comes up with, I hope it will be not more of the same

Totally agree we need a decent striker, sorry don't agree about Hope, every time he's on he pressures keepers/defence and goes after the ball if he looses it. Yes I agree Dackers should go back to Salford, a complete waste of time, another is Slew, a former player of what is capable of, too slow and shows no interest, bit like Stockton was before he left. Charlie might as well leave as Derek never plays him for some reason. Both our keepers have good points but both make silly mistakes.

There is absolutely no comparison to the players all over the pitch to those who entertained us week in week out in the few years leading up to promotion from Non-League. Whatever improvements we may be lucky to get and achieve when the 'window' opens, and Morecambe manage to find a new owner and avoid the many potential that could come our way , then it'll be a complete re-start next season. and rebuilding can then begin.

Ben Tollitt probably the only attacking player worth keeping - and even then he’s gone off the boil recently. The holding midfielders and defenders are ok (albeit the number of goals we’ve conceded does put that into question a bit). Harry Burgoyne increasingly looking like a liability due to his inability to leave his line.

Pat Bamford will probs be available as he cannot get in the Leeds side

Yep, the war chest should cover his wage for January

In fairness to Derek I think he had most of these positions covered and was hoping to utilise Lee Angol up front more than he has. No he’s not a prolific scorer himself but those who think we can sign one are dreaming on our budget. Gwion Edward’s is a terrific skilful player who we are or were very lucky to have but his injury this season has really hampered us as he has the knowledge, skill and some goals in him too so a big loss. Dereks plan was to have goals from a team not just strikers because a team like us will very rarely get a good striker. Oh yes and would I have a Stockton back, no bloody way! He sadly ruined his final few years when he sulked and took us down. Derek himself is hoping for 4 additions and yes Charlie needs to go asap for ours but more so his own career. Maybe he will do well elsewhere but I don’t care as he won’t be our player any longer. If Derek keeps us up now it’ll be a miracle but he’s performed miracles in 2nd half seasons before so fingers crossed but he has one hell of a job on now. Still, I’m clinging on, just, to some faith

Probably out of our budget but the Alty striker Regen Linney is one we should be looking at as he has the experience at 27 and is currently knocking the goals in for fun like a certain Jack Redshaw used to before he signed for the club.

However I suspect that verbal deals have already been done or are very close to being done for a number new faces either on loan or on 6 month contracts. I somehow can't see DA waiting for the next window to open before he starts to do some shopping in particular for a striker, creative mid fielder and a goalkeeper.

He's said numerous times in the media the positions he needs to bring in some badly needed quality so why wait until January to shop around for those players to fill the positions he's identified as being priority.

As mentioned above, the injuries to Edwards and Angol have been pretty ruinous. We were always up against it this season, but to lose our best CF and our best winger (who's up there with the best in the league on his day) has been a huge blow. Tollitt's done well stepping up but we're now overly reliant on him - him slipping off the boil in recent weeks (which happens for most attacking players at this level) means we have very little else to offer.

Hope, for me, is absolutely fine as a squad player. His nous/movement is still pretty good and despite his lack of pace/physicality, he works very hard. His goals off the bench have also gotten us four points vs Fleetwood and Swindon. But I don't think he's the level we want from our starting CF. Dackers has done well performance wise for the most part this season but the lack of goals is really getting a bit much now, and his performances have dropped in recent weeks.

I'm not entirely sure where my priorities specifically would be for January. It's obviously No10/winger/CF, but I'm not sure in what order. Worth saying as well we've looked non-existent at No10 all season - Macadam has shown flashes and is tidy technically but hasn't really kicked on, and Paul Lewis has offered pretty much nothing. Now we've got an issue at GK as well with Moore's recurring injuries. Burgoyne is a decent shot stopper but his complete lack of presence or ability coming off his line is becoming too much.

Hopefully the funds will stretch far enough to help us recover in all those positions - as I do think we need three more in the attacking area! You'd think Brown departing (surely he has to for his own sake as well as ours) will free up more funds.

Michael Mellon being touted around. He knows the club and Derek, so Burnley & the lad may feel 'better the devil you know', and he'd be guaranteed a start. Fleetwood and Swindon were suggested as being interested in him. No doubt they could offer Burnley a much bigger contribution, but with a new manager coming in at Fleetwood, again, Burnley may look at sending him out to somewhere that has worked for him before?

"Why has the club gone from losing £200K to £800K per year? It's not gone on the football side of the business. It's not gone into improving the football team"

Will Derek get an answer?

Slightly off topic, but if it’s to show we will end up either a bigger dept after the transfer window I suppose that’s OK. Wouldn’t any new owner have to pay that debt off as well as buy the Club? It might be why there is a delay, Momi might be rethinking??

Could be part of the plan, running the Club into the ground, Worcester Warriors went bust due to significant financial issues, including substantial debt, unpaid taxes to HMRC and a lack of funding to pay players and staff. This led the Club going into administration in 1922. To be fair their debts were said to be £30 million at that time, so a way to go yet.

No, I’m sure the Club will soldier on where ever we end up.

Just added another mistake to add to all the ones I’ve made this year (to many!), I cannot blame predictive text just a staying finger. Sorry to the Worcester Warriors fans it was 2022.

At least I’ve given you a bit of a laugh at now and again, lastly Merry Christmas to you all. :D

I think if we can convince Mellon to return, that would make a massive difference. He will need the support though of a couple of creative players.
