Whittingham will only sell if he gets at least the value of his investment. At the moment that is sinking fast. I doubt the club is worth what he actually put in, so no the sale will not be happening any tjmee soon.

Now I talked to a guy I’d never met before on the way home from the match when he heard me talking to my mate about the plan!!

His take on the sale is that the prospective buyers cannot pass the EFL Test but the rules for taking over a National League side are weaker and the prospective buyers will therefore have a better chance of buying Morecambe FC, if Morecambe FC are relegated.

To me the plan is possibly one of the 3 things below:-

Part One.
Jason doesn’t want to sell, the reason being he has taken money out of the Club in the past and he’s got a financial windfall coming to the Club with the Chelsea game coming up, it’s a sham.

Part Two.
He is running the Club into the ground, for personnel financial reasons, hence poor budget and the rest of way his ownership is bringing the Club down towards administration.

Part Three.
He genuinely wants to sell but only at a certain price, and he’s only found a guy who cannot prove his suitability in passing the EFL Test.

Of course pure speculation, but as the guy i spoke to said ‘something is not adding up!’ Well that for sure!!
If this guy I met is right do we want a new owner who cannot prove his suitability to pass the EFL test?

Doesn't Jason fund our budget through a high interest loan? I'm guessing he hasn't lost a penny

That's a very good point who overseas non league takeovers as we would no longer by an EFL club.

Oww, never considered that! It makes sense.

What a twat.

From what I can ascertain the FA are in control of the Owners and Directors Test even at the National League System level’s. ( Vanarama level and those leagues below them).

If it’s the same test (shouldn’t see why it is if the FA runs the test), maybe it’s not as easy as the guy I met thought it could be if we where outside of EFL.

The prospective owner therefore will not find it any easier to buy a Football Club. They will have to have the evidence they have so far failed to produce.

Apologise if my post set off alarm bells, hopefully someone can confirm it one way or another.

If Jason and Momi want us to go down why did one or both of them supply Derek with money to buy players in Jan window?

I'm sure that Derek said in one of his interviews he'd been given money (from Jason?) for new players. Mind you I don't know if that was just"promised" money! That's happened before

I think what we know for certain is that No money has as yet been made available for Derek to go out and get in those much needed players for the current squad.
Again we have been told this, but again the weeks roll on and nothing concrete has been put in place from JW or Momi.
Hopefully if the money does come in we can start again in January.

Someone has bought £168,000 worth of shares in our club.

Confirmation can be found on the Company House site so your claim that no money is available contradicts that of Company House

Whether the whole of that in addition to that obtained thanks to numerous cup wins will be made available only time will tell but I have faith in out BoDs to do what they can to provide DA with the necessary funds to bring in new talent.

I spoke to one of our Co Chairman prior to yesterday's match and I'm more than happy to believe what I was told in our face to face conversation.

Fans need to understand that certain information about certain matters concerning our club and the club's sale needs to be kept confidential as are the details of our on going communication with the EFL.

We may not like it but that is the way it has to be. Not everything in the running of our club's business can be (or should be) made public. You wouldn't expect that in the greater business world so why should a football club which is a business be any different.... :?: :?: :?:

I'm a shareholder in our club and I would not expect every deal or conversation concerning the running of my club (especially matters concerning tax affairs) to be made available to me and other shareholders.

I'd be interested to know why certain fans feel differently... :?: :?: :?: .

Was the information given to you the same as the information that we all already know or something different?

A football club IS different, we're not "customers" we are fans. How many times have you, yourself written "OUR CLUB"? Obviously, some aspects of a deal need to remain confidential. But perhaps if the club had been more open in the past, we wouldn't be in the same mess that we're in now? Lemos, Cala... Bond Group...

How would things have been different if the fans had known about Lemos and the others.... :?: :?: :?:

Fans can't alter what a BoDs or owner(s) decide and carry out.... :!: :!: :!:

That process can only change when and if fans have representation on the Board or actually own the club themselves. And even then I suspect certain details will remain confidential.

I'm totally in favour of fans have representation on the Board but unfortunately we are no way near that happening at this moment in time.

We have minimal to zero influence on who the club is sold to, but we can understand and accept what is going on.

If we were told if a rival bid has actually, genuinely been made, but turned down, rather than second guessing, it makes it easier to understand and accept what's going on.

If we're told where the delay in selling is, it makes it easier to understand and accept what's going on.

If we were actually being informed rather than kept in the dark, it makes it easier to understand and accept what is going on.

As it is, fans of [as you say] OUR club are being kept in the dark, and the anger is rising. People will soon start walking away. Yesterday was painful to watch. If Derek manages to finish third from bottom, he'll have done an amazing job.

You appear not to have answered my question...

A shareholder cannot demand to see everything about a business, there are restrictions such as access to management accounts or certain legal advice that may have been obtained amongst other things.

Yes a share holder can demand to see certain things like minutes of a general meeting and directors service accounts and a list of shareholders, but yes there has to be some form of confidentiality by the Owner and Directors.

I would say unequal access to documents or verbal information can lead to unrest between company shareholders, Directors should be transparent about access to documents or the giving out of verbal information and they should be as transparent as possible we everyone equally.

I don’t know you and this is not ago at you,(more at the Co Chairman), but if the Co Chairman can tell you something, (As far as I’m concerned the Co Chairman shouldn’t do that), he should tell all shareholders, it’s as simple as that.

Then once that has been done you have to filter in the factor of the individual and whether or not they are credulous in what they have been told.

I probably along with a lot of other fans would like to know what you have been told so that we can make our minds up if we can take what has been said at face value or not.

Oh being a certain fan, I readily understand you cannot put it on here if you was told to keep it to yourself, but if you wasn’t perhaps you would share it and we could make our own minds up.

I would like to see a weekly update by the directors, even if there is nothing new to tell us. Perhaps with fans emailing questions. Some questions may be answered with "unfortunately we can't answer that for legal reasons" , or "confidentiality". Even 'non information' will help to fill the vacuum. It's the vacuum of information that leads to problems.

100% in agreement with the above BUT with I suspect a gagging order in place both by the current owner and the prospective owner any news on that issue will remain confidential.

Further to my post and the possibility of the Club Sale going through.

Someone I met on Saturday after the match had a theory that Momi would have a better chance f buying Morecambe FC if they were in the National League as they rules surrounding Chang of ownership would make it easier for him to pass the Test’s that at the moment he doesn’t seem to be able to do.

If you go to the
Nation League website:- ‘thenationalleague.org.uk’ and click on the pdf box download ‘National League Rules 2024-25 season’ you will get all the information concerning their rules.

Go to Appendix R on page 122 and you get to the paragraphs entitled ‘Acquisition Materials’ this gives a list of 21 items (non-exhaustive), of items the National League Board deems reasonable to request from prospective buyers pretty much as you would expect, really.

I Cannot find a list like on the EFL website so I don’t know if the process is easier or not, as my man said it could be.

I would expect it to be along the same lines (maybe more in-depth), as it’s It’s pretty much the information needed to see if someone is fit and proper to be an Owner of a football club and Momi seems not to be able to pass the relevant information on.

It's not weekly Keith but we have the opportunity to ask questions of the Board via the Shrimps Trust regular meeting with them! That is one of the reasons for the existence of the Trust.
