He has finally said that he and his associates are the people who have an agreement with the Bond Group to buy the Club.

Well, it's a positive statement. Obviously, trust is err... ...stretched, generally, but all the same, it is positive.

Let's see what happens next!

So how did that work out then?

Is this good news? It is rumoured they have put their final submission’s to the EFL, though i hear another rumour they are just about at the point of submitting all their evidence to the EFL.

Time will tell!!

Either hand over the necessary to the EFL or just fook off. Anything else is meaningless crap.

Hopefully this is the news we have been waiting for. Sounds like Johal done a number on him and his colleagues. All makes sense when you look over the comings and goings over the summer.
Let's see how it goes with finally getting rid of JW.
Very positive and straightforward explanation.
With the Bod now having the new members on the board to possibly persuade the EFL that they will pass all the required fields to purchase the club.
Also very positive about the fans and the community.

I agree. Taking it at face value, he's clearly trying to allay our concerns and distance himself from Sarbjot which, as long as he has honest intentions, can only be a good thing and makes sense. We also have no idea what is happening at EFL Towers regarding the sale's progress and, for all we know, he might well have given them the required information which they might be dragging their heels over.

I welcome the statement and like all those who love our club, that collectively we can now move forward and put the last year once and finally to rest.

Welcome to our club gentlemen and hope that you're true to your word about the future of our club.

After 67 years of a supporter of the club I've witnessed many changes and a few false dawns. I sincerely hope that finally this saga can be closed and look to our club's future with optimism and pride.

If this letter is about the aquasition of Bonds shares, what about the shares Johal acquired for paying a month's wages. Surely those still leave him with a good chunk of the club. Very happy to be explained otherwise if I'm mistaken.

Quite a few people are feeling very positive about this. I sincerely hope you're right but after all that's gone on so far and the link with Sarbjot (albeit that might be covered in the statement) I'm having difficulty getting excited about this at all. :?

There are bound to be mixed reactions from the fans at present. Human nature leads some to welcome this statement because it is the sort of thing they want to hear, others will remember that Bond Group were welcomed with open arms. All we can do now is await news from the EFL. It is a massive decision for them this time. They have to get this one right.

Should we continue with action from the Trust and 1920 protest group? In my view we should keep the pressure on.

Yes the action should go on but it needs to be tailored to this new situation. The pressure on Jason needs to continue, until the EFL ratify the deal and Momi and his associates takeover the club I think it is very hard to start to trust him one bit, so the pressure on him has to continue.

On Momi, why has it taken him from August when he cut all ties with Sarbjot to come out with this statement? His secrecy of being the one who had agreed a sale with Jason has not sat well with me. It has been a sort of open secret that it was Momi who was the buyer and several including myself posted on his personnel wealth months ago. The feeling was when you looked at his own business’s and at the time his link with Sarbjot it was felt, as Martin Calladine says, hard to see how he had enough wealth to acquisition a football club!!

I am however now man enough to take his statement at face value and accept his explanation with his links to Sarbjot are well and truly over.

What I would like now is a fast conclusion to the submission to the EFL and for the club to change hands A.S.A.P.and we are then finally shut of the Bond Group ownership of the Club and the new chapter can begin.

Once the sale has gone through I then want and I think the Club and its loyal fans want some specifics on the road ahead, with a hard fast commitment to inject monies into the Club on both the playing side, the match day experience and the backing of the fantastic community work Morecambe FC does in the Town.

For me this can be achieved by the new owners treating the Club as a fantastic asset it is and the commitment to work with us it’s supporters because we are the heart beat of the Club.

For me that is the inclusion of the fans in decision making and that can be done by building in the relationship with the Shrimps Trust. For myself that does not happen unless a representative of the Shrimps Trust is on the BoD’s representing the fans at the top table.

We wait and see how Momi’s take over progresses but I hope it is not a false dawn and Momi (and his representatives), are true to the words in his statement and take the Club forward.

The next 5 months are pivotal to the Club and that survival in League two is all that matters. They must do everything to ensure Morecambe FC are in League Two next season.

Trying my hardest to be upbeat but something just isn’t right mainly the fact & that nobody is mentioning that Sarbjot/Sarb capital is a current share holder of Morecambe football club! So in effect cutting all ties is a little false because he’s buying back in to him

Link to Trust statement. Still no contact with the would be buyer and the Trust.

I feel this statement has only come about because a journalist outed him this week.

Why wouldn't you want the fans and Trust on board from the get go?

This is how Whittingham works, he has done it time and time again. Everytime that there is a hint of pressure on him he releases a statement or goes on the radio saying that everything is going well blah blah blah. Surely as a fanbase we have become wise to his tactics and know that his and his mates words are empty?

It is groundhog day and unless this new buyer can prove that he is a credible buyer we should call it out for what it is.
