O/T Epson Printer needs repair

O/T Epson Printer needs repair

Postby redrobo » Wed Nov 27, 2024 2:20 pm

My Epson XP760 printer needs a new ink pad fitting.

Does any SVer know where I can get a new one fitted locally?

Thanks
Neil

If you ring Epson customer service they will either send you one or give you details of your nearest retailer

We use Epson at work and they are very helpful

Is Shrimpvoices the only place to have not discovered search engines yet?

Now why didn't I think of that....

Of course I did...but contacted a coupe of companies who wanted postage plus up to £45 per hour plus cost of replacement part..... :o :o :o

Much prefer to do any business with locals as and when possible.

Also see no problem in asking on our forum.....but maybe you have....

Cheers Redalert...but have been warned that they will want me to purchase a new printer as my Epson XP760 is now over 6 years old in daily use for printing photos etc....which in fact may be the way I go in the end....

Before buying new, if you search on 'Youtube' you'll find step-by-step guides to doing your own repair. If it still doesn't work, then bin it and buy again, you'll lose nothing. It almost certainly isn't worth paying a professional to repair it.

So how did that work out then?

Cheers Keith.....Done all of what you suggested but not that confident that i would be able to follow all the steps involved as my DIY skills are not that successful normally. Spoke to my son in law who is usually pretty good as doing more complicated DIY and even he said he would find it difficult with no guarantee that it would be successful. So he is going to find a technician who has the necessary experience to do the repair....BUT it depends on the cost. It may be that I decide to purchase a new printer that can make use of my ink which I've quite a lot of. My XP760 is over 6 years old and to replace would be over £450.....which is too much but i can get a reasonable printer that would be fine at a fraction of the cost.

Thanks everybody for your suggestions....much appreciated.
