Amazing what the threat of a protest can do isn't it?

Well done to the Shrimp Protest Group, making a stand against the Owner and forcing things to change. Well done to all involved, don't stop now!

As posted on another thread this means nothing and it all has a long way to run, so it’s great that there is people who willing to stand up for this club, because we don’t know who the prospective buyers are, Pressure needs to continue.
It’s still feeding us crumbs off the table!! and because we are hungry for it all to be over it should not stop. I just hope it doesn’t take as long as it did to get to here, since JW said there was four prospective buyers, till we are fed something else, We all want to know who the buyers are, aren’t we as supporters worth sharing that with???

Just a guess but probably nothing at all to do with the Protest group. I think it's common knowledge that they have been turned down by every media outlet they've approached.

More likely to have stemmed from last week's meeting between the board and the Trust.

Only guess work but the Trust do have communication with the Board, EFL, Local MP, local media and seem to be the only people getting anything at all from the current owner.

My biggest concern is why a potential new owner would want to stay invisible. Surely you'd want the fans and Trust onside from the start.

Well done to the Trust for organising a protest meeting. Is the new MP going to be in attendance- she needs to be. I think after the meeting we should contact the Sports Minister and Prince William as patron of the FA about what is happening to our beloved club. We have trusted board and owner for too long. We are going down according to the statistics of previous seasons and time is running out. It is unthinkable and we fans have to think the unthinkable in what protest actions we take. Suggestions of what we can do should be brought to the Trust’s meeting. COYS.We need to fight to save our league status.

Do you not think that the Trusts position has changed/been influenced by the fact that there is clearly growing will amongst the supporter base for tangible movement on the sale? The Trustees may have been heading to this juncture anyway - the Trust have been very transparent with the lack of communication with Mr Whittingham, who to my mind has shown a complete lack of respect to the concerns of supporters throughout this whole process and has hidden being the veil of corporate bullshit.

Obviously the Trustees are a board, and must have consensus as a board regarding the direction of the Trust. The fact that there has been, albeit largely uncoordinated, murmurings of a protest ahead of the last home game coupled with the surfacing of an unaffiliated protest group (I do not know who is behind this, but providing they proceed in a lawful fashion I have no problem with this anonymous group ruffling feathers) - surely this might've tipped the balance/composition of opinions (I'm sure there would already have been members on the board that wanted a more active protest) that collectively now is the time that we should be doing more. I do not think the clubs announcement changes anything.

Or it might have been an interview for them to stay on the BOD’s, which I think would be a good move. It would mean continuity within the take over process. It would be a smart move by the new owners to keep the in place with their knowledge of running Morecambe FC.
One move that I would like to see is that a representative from the Shrimps Trust is given a proper seat on the board. The Trust has become much more professional in its approach (see Rods comment on the Stronger Together Plan for 2024-25). That move I believe will give the fans a voice on the Board and it would show how progressive the new owners are by not waiting for a Governance Bill to be passed by the Government. This also would be a great move for the new owners to show their appreciation of supporters of Morecambe FC, something we have never had under JE, who has, in my opinion, treat us with contempt.

I think with the drive for new members to get on board with the Shrimps Trust is great they really are trying to deliver a stronger voice and I think now is a great time to join the Shrimps Trust and swell its numbers.

Just because there as been a zoom meeting doesn't mean a sale is any closer

More likely to keep the fans quiet

Like most, I clicked on the the board update with some excitement. What I read was once again quite frustrating.

Why can't the proposed buyer be named?
Why can't the board currently say anything of any significance?

It all stinks to me. A sale may get over the line, potentially by the sheer weight of money behind those looking to buy the club. But what happens after that?

I'm very much of the 'be careful what you wish for', and 'out of the frying pan, into the fire' train of thought. But I'm beginning to think, 'just get on with it, it can't be any worse'. In six months time, going as we are, with Whittingham still owning the club, I think we will be relegated and heading for Administration. If it is Sarbjot and his mates, and they've got some cash, let them get on with it. We're almost screwed anyway.

It’s seems it still frustrating to the fans it’s being kept confidential (SECRET,) from us who it is and that’s because we believe from past experience it’s just more meaningless words that keep us in the dark.

What are the prospective new owners afraid of? I think they would get off on a better footing if with the fans if they announced who they are, NOW, even if it all falls through, considering from the little we actually do know, it seems the take over is at an advance stage but is it?

At the moment we are just waiting for a HERE WE ARE!! announcement, GOODNESS KNOWS WHEN

Is that really good enough?

It's so frustrating when there was a buyer out there who, on the face of it, looked genuine but his bid was rejected. I wonder if he is still around?

My only hope is its Fury, wanting to control the narrative, announce in the ring after Usyk that he's retiring and taking over Morecambe, there's a transfer kitty for Derek in January and his TV cameras will be at the Mazuma New Years Day to film the great escape for Netflix

It would be great to get some positive coverage. We've been a soap-opera for a decade, it would be better if it was actually shown on Amazon or Netflix because Fury owned us!

Great as that would be, What are you on

Oh, and if you are right, that would be great if he’s up for it?? Netflix would love it for series Four, so he would get some of his money back.

Sadly though I don’t think he’s finished with Boxing.

Well you may be right! It also might not even happen at all!! In the mean time JW is the owner, do you think he will give the Club any money for the January Transfer Window, even if we have managed to get to the FA Cup third round?

Is it really worth getting worked up about new ownership anytime soon, especially seeing we don’t know who it is? “Finally a meeting” in the end so what, as I have said we are waiting for the “HELLO IT’S US” announcement, don’t hold your breath.

You may be correct, by which time, it could well be too late for us. We need a deal next week, and new owners saying to Derek, "you can spend £XXX in January" so he has time to start putting feelers out now.

Sweet dreams Keith....sweet dreams! I'm intending to put my house on the market soon and I don't expect it to go before the New Year. Wonder which will sell first!

It says they met “a representative” of the potential buyers, which could have been one of Jason’s cronies playing the part ??
