Tom Pidcock retained his Olympic Gold winner at the Olympics this pm But his win was met with French boos.

Typical of the French and their lack of respect to a GB winner.

Our neighbors are camping in the Dordogne for 6 weeks and spoke to us before they left about their Dutch friends who they meet up with and how the Dutch hate the French more than we do.

Didn't think that was possible..... :o

I'm sure your neighbours (one of whom I think I know, since there can't be too many people from your street taking a 6 week holiday in the Dordogne) wouldn't keep returning to France if the French were that horrible. In my experience there are French and there are Parisians. Speaking in French to the residents of Lille, they could'nt be more happy to encounter an Englishman speaking French, and they were very friendly with me, Mrs A and her parents. The Parisians meanwhile would refuse to understand me however good my French. I've also chatted to a young rural Frenchman working in England several years ago who said the Parisians treat them the same as they treat foreigners, so please, let's not tar all French with the Parisian brush (and try not to be yoo prejudicial over it as well ;) ).
