No loss as far as being the manager goes. He is a coach or assistant.

I can see why he got the job but it clearly wasn't working. Another Manager trying his best to make things work at our car crash club that has decided to leave.

A choice between a football genius and the king but won't be easy selling it to them. This embargo needs to be sorted.

The mess the club is in, obviously pushed him out. Ah well, here we go again. How much have we made, selling managers?

Can't say I'm sorry too see him go, he might be a good number 2. I think we've sold more managers than players recently!

Surely there has to be a statement about all the players that have left and thanking them for their service and which ones have been offered new deals?

More alarm bells. Good luck Ged.

Could we see the return of the king? Maybe if he's willing to work for peanuts.

Might have to be time to give Drummy a go?

Nooo! I'd hope we've learnt the hard way about promoting from within. We need an experienced football league manager. Someone who obviously relishes a tough challenge, who has player connections. God knows who will be brave/daft enough to do it but someone will appear.

Ged as been offered a 3 year contract at Accy so couldn't really turn it down

As a manager not a great loss it's more the players leaving which is harder to replace

Loads of teams posting their retained and released lists now. Including Accy as I went on to read their Brannan announcement.

Surely ours is a very quick article to write? We are usually quick at this.

I agree, we desperately need an experienced manager to navigate the next few months, someone with experience, but more importantly, contacts with other clubs to secure the loan players we'll need. We won't be able to attract any decent players on contracts, so we'll have to get the best we can and hope some decent loan players will provide the spark. It's going to have to be between Derek and Coleman really and I can't see Derek returning under even worse conditions than when he left previously, so got to hope Coleman is up for a challenge.

Promoting from within maybe fine for the assistant manager position, but it's too big of an ask to expect someone without experience to do the necessary under our conditions. We need to learn from taking the cheap/easy option in the past. It doesn't work.

Well for me I'm sorry to see him go. A true gentleman, honest and well liked by players.

Good luck in the future Ged. No one at Morecambe will hold this against you in the circumstances you were expected to work and if Morecambe ever play Accrington again I trust you will get a great reception from Shrimps fans.

Good luck to Ged because who knows where we are heading, as Ben said it’s getting harder to do anything at Morecambe FC, to steer it though this time and it just keeps getting harder.

Who is in the building to do the writing?
I think Ben will be just as bigger loss IMO

2 big positions to fill, but can't blame either for walking

It may be that, as we've got to pay players for another couple of months, there is no rush to release anyone, and we're holding off, in the desperate hope that something changes before then? If, for example, a new owner appears in the next couple of weeks, then players we want to keep may decide to remain, but if we say we've released them their position has changed? Just trying to second guess the situation.
