Sad to read of his death and the last remaining cast member of Dads Army. We'll never see their like again

He wasn't long out of Bristol Old Vic Theatre School when cast as Frank Pike in 1968. He was surrounded by experienced 'old hands' and must have learned so much from them. I remember him saying they were kind and adopted him to an extent. It was very much an ensemble effort, and he was its star turn in many episodes. Timeless classic and still enjoyable.
