4th officials and a Managers Technical Area

4th officials and a Managers Technical Area

Postby redrobo » Sun Jan 28, 2024 11:32 am

Too many times over the past seasons have managers disregarded the instructions of the fourth official to stay in their technical area.

Yesterday was a prime example of a management team ignoring the instructions and wandering onto the pitch during play despite being told constantly NOT to do so.

It begs the question as what use is a fourth official in such circumstances if their instructions are clearly ignored. Maybe a few more red cards issued to managers and their assistants would be a clear indication as to the permitted and accepted use of the technical area.... :?: :?: :?:

They did finally listen when a few started shouting "Get back in your box!" Even got a wry smile from one of them when he mace a point of deliberately stepping back to put one foot in the technical area.... :D

Was funny in the 2nd half when Cowley shouted to the 4th this isn't fair "we haven't had a decision yet"
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

How about a barrier! Only thing is the home team will have to have one!!

Open play and people watching the Cowley Twins coming out of the box, was the game that bad?

Best I heard was when one of Colchester players got a blow to the head and was down for several minute’s having a big white bandage rapped around his head. A shout of “treat him off the pitch” was met by one of the Cowley’s shouting “ HE’S A HUMAN BRING WITH A SERIOUS HEAD INJURY, COME ON WHATS WRONG WITH YOU?”. Considering all thar has been said about head injuries in the game, Colchester had him back on the pitch within two minutes and that was with the ref not letting him on for 30 seconds.

But the player had stood up, was walking around, and was about two steps from the touchline when he decided to sit down again, so could easily have walked off the pitch and got his head bandaged on the touch line, rather than delaying the game. Just more of the dark arts used against us!

Too many times we players going down holding their heads to break up play and then get up and say they are ok
so if that happens they should go off the field for a set time eg.60secs
if the trainers comes on then taken off for treatment plus the normal 30secs
Probs hard to put into place

Bedeau put in a cracking challenge on one of their players right on the touch line close to us..a totally fair challenge...the Colchester player collapsed to the ground, screaming and holding his head like he'd been shot. To say Bedeau was incensed would be an understatement...

The play acting by the opposition was beyond ridiculous...

Yes the dark arts that other teams are not bothered about using. It happened at Barrow, player holding his head, while down in their own penalty area, play stoped, he was injured, leg and subsequently went off soon afterwards, but play would not have been stoped for a leg injury. The free kick from which Colchester scored was bought by the Colchester player throwing them selves on the ground, he had lost control of the ball.
