Surely a temporary club suspension and 'gardening leave' until it's all sorted would have been sufficient at this stage rather than an immediate loss of employment..... :?: :?: :?:

No...the club's integrity is far more important than any one individual...

Absolutely not. Face the fact someone at the club has done wrong. Get rid. Deserves everything he gets and needs erasing from the clubs history as backroom staff. The club is in a sensitive position and too delicate to mess around with experienced idiots who can't follow the rules. Makes you question everything he did and the decisions he was advising/made.

Bye bye John. Shut the door in the way out - see you in Ladbrokes.

The correct decision by the club.

His case could drag on for months with Morecambe FC getting a mention every time which is not what we want when trying to find a buyer for the club.

It is not just one isolated incident but 251 offences mentioned in the charge.

No it was the right decision for him to go, the integrity of the Club has been brought into disrepute and we at this stage don’t know what matches he was betting on.

Sorry but John is not a young kid

He must have known what he was doing was wrong

Only worry for me is how many other people at the club knew about this

Well let's hope the players/former players didn't know.

We don't know the nature of the bets but the only people who can affect football matches are players.

As far as bets go , yes. The first yellow card , the first corner , the first throw in etc etc

Argh yes, granted. However straight bets on winning and loosing is very much influenced by people in Johns role.

Anyway he's gone and good riddance. The statement from the club was flattering. I wouldn't have bothered.

lets not forget John has had chest pains recently and was off work with that, and it’s that what’s played a bigger part in his decision

While I do think the club parting ways with John, I hope that he isn't a problem gambler. Gambling addiction destroys lives and their families. Repeated gambling, simply because he didn't expect to get caught is one thing. Doing so due to addiction is completely different.
