His striker partner up at Kendal is a certain Steven Yawson who is also scoring regularly this season and last.

Failed to make the grade at Morecambe but is excelling up there.

The Mintcakes have got off to a flyer of a start this season. Already have over 20 points on the board. Good to see after a few seasons of struggle.

Derek says there will be 2 players in before the "window" slams shut tomorrow. The 2nd deal is currently in progress according to Beyond radio.

Maybe Derek has pulled off a masterstroke and convinced Salah the grass is greener in Morecambe

I always say the grass may "look" greener but there's always the potential for some hidden dog shit.

He sounds a decent signing. 30 EFL 1 games last season. He is a Welsh Under 21 international so if he is called up we can cancel some games !

I think that Niasse could be the final signing but maybe wishful thinking.

It has to be 3 first team players.

I think it was Dagenham & Redbridge who signed an U21 player, so they had three players called up, postponed our game, then never once played the U21 player.

Derek on radio Lancashire tonight said that when it's all been confirmed he thinks we will have 4 players with international call-ups which is a great credit to our squad and some of their performances.

Just so long as our postponed matches coincide with either a good run for our opposition or a bad run for us but knowing our luck

If 4 players have been taken from an already small squad then it is to our advantage to cancel and play when we have a full squad , whatever our form is like or that of the opposition.

James Connolly is a very good signing!

He's a proper L1 defender, destined for Championship. I'm amazed Bristol Rovers aren't using him this season and they've loaned him to League 2. I think he'll get game time ahead of either Rawson or Bedeau or maybe even challenge Songo'o as DM.

All the Bristol Rovers fans who tweeted on the announcement said what a great player he is which is a good sign.

Derek hasn't brought him in to be a squad player. The away defence performances have been dismal and Derek probably sees James as a solution.

Already has 2 hat-tricks and 14 goals in total to his name so far this season.

OK the level he is playing at is low but strikers have a nose for goals and for getting in the right place to score so maybe worth a punt.

Barrow fans forumseem to think that he's got potential and they should be after him for !

Exactly what my thoughts are.

Perhaps he has got potential, but unless Kendal are going to let him go for your fifty-quid and a SMART TV, we ain't got the cash to be buying anyone. It's our lack of money, not his lack of potential, that makes him unattainable at the moment.

Keith is absolutely right RR. We are in no position to take on someone who might become really good in the future. It has to be someone who can do the job this season.

Morecambe have signed Blackburn striker Ethan Walker on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old came through the ranks at Preston before making his debut against Aston Villa aged 16 years and 156 days - a club record.
Preston loaned Walker to Altrincham, Stalybridge Celtic, Carlisle and AFC Fylde before he signed for Blackburn last summer.
Manager Derek Adams told the club website: "He is a young, hungry forward who wants to continue his development.
"We see this as a good opportunity for him to do that at the same time as helping us in League Two this season."
"You can see from his career to date that he hasn't been afraid to go out and test himself in men's football and try to push himself and those are fantastic attributes for us to bring to Morecambe."
Walker has scored seven goals for Rovers Under-21 in Premier League 2 across the past two seasons.

Good luck to the lad but it is a shame we haven’t brought in a more experienced player.
