Then we won't have a scored a second half home goal all season, the last been against Burton last season. That in itself is an absolute shocking stat.

Got to hope that the owners (old or new) give Derek a budget to bring in some decent players able to score goals next month. It's last chance saloon really as the players we have aren't good enough. Yes, we have some youngsters with talent, but they're not yet experienced enough to make the right decisions, hence why they're here and not bigger/better clubs.

Anybody else think that DA should have kept Tooms......an experienced head in midfield could have been useful....especially to our younger less experienced midfielders who are all loan players learning their trade in a physical and competitive environment.

I have been saying all season we should have kept Toums. Okay his legs were going but what a football brain. He would have given us a flair and craft that we sadly lack.

Last EFL clean sheet 22 October in 1-0 win v Barnsley.

Only 1 other clean sheet in the EFL all season on opening day v Shrewsbury.

We don't do clean sheets even with a superb keeper who has saved 4 out of 5 penalties !

I think when you are bottom, stats will depress us all. No point dwelling on them though. In effect, our season starts tonight. COYS!

Stats, like the one above, and the fact that we have only scored one league goal all season in the Bartercard end, are an interesting talking point, but we need to score more goals, don’t care which end, or in which half, home or away, scoring one goal isn’t enough. Attack FFS.

He should be your Hero as well Keith as he should be every Morecambe fans tbh. Times are tough but thank Derek we are not playing in the NL in front of 500 every week. The parody continues.

Win or lose, i will be there again tonight and on Sunday and so forth. Wind your stroppy little neck in Keith and enjoy the League 1 dream whilst we try and ignore your hypocrisy and tantrums. Happy New Year.

You appear to think that previous achievements make Derek impervious to criticism. I'll be as delighted as anyone if Derek keeps us up this season. BUT, I can't see that happening if we continue to play with the same, failing system.

Do you believe that playing six defenders is the best use of our squad?
Do you have faith that playing six defenders will 'click' in time to keep us up?
Do you think changing the way we play is more likely to produce a positive result?

Happy New Year.

Six defenders………….but we won!
As others have said, it doesn’t necessarily follow that the wingbacks are ultra defensive, as Cooney and then replacement Mayor proved. Gibbo sat in allowed the other two middle lads to push on, both scored.
Two goals in the home end, at last.
No goal in the second half at home yet though!
See, stats are great, but seem to be accounting negativity rather than a stat that can be used for positivity.
There are lies, damn lies, and statistics!

The people on Facebook who are trying to oust Derek mention "6 defenders" as though we are playing a back 6 ! Derek likes players who can cover all options.

I am confident that Derek can steer us clear of the bottom 4 , but he will need some reinforcements in January and it's possible some players will leave to balance it up , O'Connor , Fane to name a couple.

Cant see it being Ockers tbf, yellows are mounting and he was excellent for Rawson when he was suspended. And it only takes one injury to either Delaney and Jacob B and we would be in the mire.
There is a whisper that Fane is off to pastures new, abroad? And would expect Shane Mac to be sorting himself getting playing elsewhere, shame as I liked his energy but DA doesn’t.
It will have to be three out to be three in though!! Thoughts?

I'd be sorry if it was Ockers but after Plymouth he has been left out and there were rumours from Nixon about St Mirren being interested.

Fane as you say has been rumoured to have new pastures calling him and Derek only uses him as a bit part player. I would like it if we could sign Sango'o as his replacement , he doesn't play regularly at Valley Parade.

I like Shane Mac but he doesn't seem to be in Derek's plans.

Maybe Arthur could move , he seems to be on the fringes of the team.

Yann is a decent shout, I would have him for Fane tbf.
He’s an able destroyer, quicker, and a better distributor for me.

The most vocal are the ones who are upset that Derek got the job, upset that Derek did well and upset that Derek came back and worked a miracle. They have been sniping since day one because they were happier having their mate in charge and being the whipping boys in L2 but they felt a part of something.

Anybody who knows anything about Football knows it isn't 6 at the back or 6 defenders. I die a little inside everytime i read or hear it, it is pathetic.

Agreed Mr Wall. We have conceded 34 goals in the first half of the season. I don't have a stat for the number conceded at the 23 game stage last season but I think it will have been a few more than 34.

It's the other end where the problems have arisen. Due to injury and other factors Cole hasn't scored the number of goals he had scored at this point last season. If he had we would be way above the drop zone.

I actually think Fane and Songo are identical in terms of ability. The only difference is that Songo is more aware of his own limitations and accordingly sticks to playing simple passes, whereas Fane sometimes gets over excited and tries too much. Songo is a more effective player for it.

They were dragged kicking and screaming in to League 1 and long for the good old days where they felt like they were part of the club. They have a pop at Derek every chance they get and when they are really upset they even take aim at poor Dave Salmon for daring to try and raise the bar on Ifollow.

Yann is streets ahead of Fanè and would do a great job in front of the back 3 which would free Shaw and Weir up. It would be a fantastic signing.

Always make a point of reading your posts as I always think you're spot on, but you're way off here. Yann is far, far better.
