I know we still have another season at Christie park before our move - but just wondering which games have been everyones favourite game - maybe Sean could use all comments for programme in the future

Favourite home game - York in the playoffs 2nd leg. Come on, what a feeling! :D

Hull City at home in 1991.
it was the first time we had a crowd of over 2000 in about 15 years

we should of won that day with Tommy Miller hitting the back of the net only for the ref to play on,
It was the game that got me hooked on the shrimps.

That one and another York memory from the late sixties, the FA cup replay which finished 1-1. I think it was Arnie Timmins who got a latish equaliser.

Another cracker from that era, the Lancashie Senior Cup Final when we beat a strong Burnley side

Yeh that was another highlight last season. I wrote an article for Shrimpscene last year and narrowed it down to a top 5. We all remember games fondly for different and often unique reasons.

We don't seem to have had so many enjoyable games this season?

Very difficult question to answer, there's been so many games.

Hull in '91 - the very first Morecambe game I'd been to. Special because it planted the seed.

Home - York City in the second leg, for the occasion, the atmosphere, the continuing hope coming out of that game and the excitement of going to Wembley.

Away - barring "that" game :D

Wolves in the Carling, in laws being from down that way and all Wolves fans :D Against all the odds. Brilliant.

Hereford away in the second leg of the play-offs when we got knocked out. For so many reasons just tips it.
That night I played the drum for the whole game all 120 Min's plus stoppage
I was dripping wet but spurred on by all the Morecambe fans.
Incidentally, I do believe that, our support that night helped to spur on our chairman to push this club forward.

Anyone on our coach remember the impromptu game of footy on the petrol forecourt?

Jody, wasn't that the game when Scouse threw up in the toilet too :o that absolutely stank :!: :!:

Away match would be Hereford in the play offs even though we lost, at home the 3-2 cup win over Chester because that morning i had watched Rangers beat Celtic 3-2 in the Scottish cup and it was my birthday. :D

Wembley, and getting promoted was an true buzz but,
beating Southport something like 6-5 in mid nineties at home was an amazing game,
both defences not up to that much as you can tell, but the game had real drama, the lead exchanging again and again with us coming out on top at the end.
Beating Alty 7-1 at home was a top buzz and the friendly when we beat Wolves 7-0 and the look on Paul Ince's missus face in the car park, as she knew it was going to be a hellish journey home

1- Wembley, natch!
2 Home v Kettering or Runcorn. 1995. Runcorn because it was the first conference game (and we won!) but Kettering was a fantastic game, won 5-3 and that wa swhen I truly knew we were plenty good enough to go much further.
3 Away at Guisley. Harry Ramsdens packed with shrimps supporters! Jim harvey coming on to the most mixed reactions ever.

Don't wont to be a smart arse again but Runcorn was our second game in the conference
Telford was our first but we still won .

Beg your pardon, you're absolutely correct. I don't know why I had Runcorn in my head, I went to both! Only excuse is since then I moved to east manchester-I might be suffering from passive stupidity!

Surprised nobody has mentioned the beach party at MK Dons last season, although I'm still buzzing from Rochdale (last minute equaliser), Aldershot (Drummond 35 yarder goal of the season , for 4 days anyway  ) then Super Gaz took over at Grimsby :D

It would appear that i've seen quite a few of these games peeps...

My first morecambe game was the friday night match against bradford last season with the last minute winner which was great. The comeback game against peterboro soon after was a cracker but the 5-3 chester match was probably my favourite.

For the record...my all time favourites were wednesday v sheffield united in the '93 FA semi final where a certain mr.waddle scored a 35 yard free kick after 2 minutes or possibly beating a lesser known north west based team called manchester utd in the 91 league cup final...

oh happy days...... ;)

The Hull 91' game seems pivotal to many die-hards as their first game! Was the first game of football I ever went to when I was 9, remember sitting on the base of one of the old floodlights in what is now the carwash. I bought the programme for the game on e-bay a few years ago in prestine condition and I keep it safe with my Wembley programme.

I enjoyed the 5-3 v Chester last season, but York play-off has to be my fav home game.
