Looks as though our goalkeeping coach is playing an increasing role in the club.

At Grimsby last night and with the Res tonight.

Still plays for Nantwich in their games.

Andy Banks......??????

Young Powell signed from Barrow way back when, the only goalkeeper to say 'excuse me' to an opponent striker when coming for a corner.

Now he really was a goalie!

Ah Neil. That would be young Richard Powell i would imagine who Larry Milligan signed on a free from Blackpool pre-season 1989/90 ??!! He did play against us a few times as well in earlier seasons whilst on loan at Barrow from Bloomfield. Hopeless case he was. Actually had a good game away at Southport when we won 1-0 (A Dave or Jimmy Collins screamer !!) and was our Man Of The Match. Wonder what happened to him? I always got on ok with him (travelled on the team coach back then) and I remember wishing him luck prior to our FA Trophy game away at Ferryhill.......... some good THAT did !!!!!!!!!

Me to......I remember coming back from a pre-season game at Macc and all the talk coming back was if the club could raise money for the purchase of Sir Ian Cain from Fleetwood. Money was raised and Ian came and well the rest is history......

It was Dave Collins, surely a mis-hit! The only shot we had on target all night. Scouseport mullered us but it would not go in! "Nev" Powell had a stormer.
Crowd was around 300, probably no more than 10 from us.

We drove home chuckling, not believing we could play so badly and take the points.
Thanks for reminding me of simpler times.
