Whilst this hasn't been announced officially its just speculation, but is DC on loan there or did they buy him?
He doesn't seem to be part of Carlisles big picture, so any chance of a return to us next season? 8-)

I was thinking this too. He's on a season long loan.

While I hope it isn't true, if it is (and their own fans appear to think so) then they will get a points deduction leaving them below us. Suddenly we'd find ourselves in tenth place!

Great minds think alike!
I just keep thinking whether the club are going to secure RH for another season or whether we need some new faces up front, glad O'Carroll showed his metal tonight but he doesn't figure in SMs plans often and despite the fact Blinks works his arse off when playing, I think we can do better.
This next season is so important, you don't want one of the best new stadiums in non-league and wasn't there supposed to be more SKY money coming in?

No news on official site yet, but this is from the local rag who, only yesterday, agreed naming rights to the stadium.....

I always wondered how they managed to have the team and some of the players they have eg Joachim etc on the crowds of 3000.

There is also talk of Port Vale & Chester going into admin before the season is out.

In 2/3 years time when we start to get the income from the new ground we will be one of the most financialy sound clubs in the league.

....after rising up the divisions thanks to points deductions against countless clubs! ;)

Just had a nosy at their accounts.

As of November 2007.

Liabilities (they owed) £7.293 million
Turnover £2.686 million
Pre-tax loss in 2007 £2.662 million - staggeringly spent twice their income

If they continued at the rate they were going no wonder they've gone under.

That's the worst I've seen in this league. Having said that there's a few getting that way.

Makes you wonder why they didn't have some kind of transfer embargo with debts like that.

Good point. Will administration bring about an embargo?

Seemingly it doesn't matter how much debt you're in just how much you spend as a proportion of your income. However, I can't see Darlington being able to cut their cloth that much to bring them into line with the Football League's requirements but I'm sure they found a clever way (there are two companies established for Arena Events and Arena Management). Meanwhile I think we were a victim of our own honesty (which we should be). This proves the Football League's rules are pathetically framed, terribly enforced, not geared to modern finance, wholly inadequate and don't take account of the current financial situation.

100% agree with Posh, the embargo is a complete waste of time.

All it potentially achieves is clubs inventing new ways of avoiding it, and when they can't get the sums to add up they are in worse position for it. Darlo probably have one of, if not the biggest wage bills in this divison, on crowds of 3,000 and operating costs that must dwarf ours.

I think the timing is telling, Darlo must be in real trouble otherwise you'd assume they would have kept this in house until the end of the season. As it stood they had half a chance of going up automatically, or at least being very strong contenders for a play-off place. Now they might struggle to finish mid-table (depends how the players react), though I've a suspision that where Darlo finish is not that important in the grand scheme of having a football team or not.

Well if Chester & Port vale go next which there is a strong chance and Stockport are very worried at the moment that is just three I know of, after a few years of new stadium income we could be in a strong position to start challenging to get out of this league.

Darlo are playing the game. They have waited until they are safe points wise and then put the paperwork in. Other teams have been penalised heavily for this – so Darlington should be too. They should have their points deducted at the start of next season…..not the end of this one. Otherwise it isn’t fair on the rest.

Or they equally should have a 17 pt deduction not 10 pt

Are you on crack? They've had the same punishment other teams entering administration have got. Should they not come out of administration by the start of next season, then they'll be subject to another deduction, the same as the teams who have been docked points this season.

Joachim now plays for Kings Lynn in the Conference North. How the mighty have fallen. According to friends of mine who watch KL he is rumoured to be on at least £1000 per week.
No wonder Darlo had to get rid. Couldnt afford him!

The administrators have closed the stand that houses the season ticket holders. They have also increased programme prices but very interestingly "curtailed" the number of complimentary ticket handouts.
As they are obviously also in a transfer embargo a few loan players have been sent back so it looks like a very young team from now on 8-)

It would be interesting to see if the "freebie" brigade continue to watch the games or simply don't turn up, although some of the free tickets apply to under 10's and schools :o

They are also stopping happy hour in the club bar and no longer serving draught beer :(
