For me Kelvin is the unsung hero of our team at the moment and it's little wonder that the Scunny commentators were singing his praises and wishing that he was with them for his all round game.

Surely one of if not the best of DA's signings to date... :?: :?: :?:

Agreed, thought he had a shaky start but he's been excellent the past few games. I especially like how willing he is to just run at defences.

Strong competition at right-back since Cooney looks excellent too.

Was chatting with a Scunthorpe fan yesterday evening who felt that Mellor had Eisa in has pocket.

Agree he looked shaky in his first few appearances and lost his place to Cooney, but since he's been back in he's been excellent. A real threat going forward - his cross that led to Wildig's goal was excellent - and has done well in defence too. His tackling has been good and despite his eagerness to get forwards, I never really feel he usually leaves us lacking in defence down the our right hand side.

Bradford fans had a lot of bad things to say about him and NKP (as well as Carlisle fans) but both have done well, particularly Mellor.

+1

Our ‘best’ back 4 at the start of the season was Cooney, Lavelle, Davis, Gibson but due to injuries and covid etc, we’ve found that Mellor, Lavelle, K-P, Hendrie has also been superb for us. Hendrie has had his ups and downs but in his last few games he looked solid, and an upgrade on Conlan/Cranston imho.

Absolutely with you on that! As the saying goes, it's a good headache to have. Mellor/Cooney, Lavelle/Davis/NKP/Songo'o and Gibson/Hendrie is a great set of options at the back, probably the best we've had in a number of years.
