Luke Conlon Transfer Bid?

Fylde put in a transfer bid for Conlon and he's been given permission to discuss things with them but Derek Adams may speak with the board to say he wants to keep Luke regardless.

Hmm, interesting. I like Conlon and think he's improved, but if he wants to go and we're given a decent transfer fee, then it is probably best to let him go rather than force him to stay?

I can see Luke Conlon going.

we've Hendrie who seems 1st choice and Knight-Percival who can play both L/B and C/B and then even Kenyon in an emergency.

if the price is right then so be it.

I would sell him and put the saving towards a forward in case A Jay is going to be injured.

I felt Luke improved under DA but if it's a decent offer, move him on and let Derek keep rebuilding the squad. I do feel that Luke is too good to be playing conf north though. I half expect Bolton to come in for him as well!

A shame that both transfer bids are for left-backs, otherwise we'd definitely accept.

For me, very few players in our squad are irreplaceable, if the money can be reinvested in the squad then I think it's worth it.

People seem to think we have a very versatile back line this season. If the price is right, and with so much sponsorship coming in, could there be the funds to replace Conlon, and bring in a back up for A.J, who some think gets injured easily, and wasn't even on the team sheet yesterday ?

He was out for all the second half of the season in 2019 and only started 8 games last season, so that might have something to do with it, so sorry for the lad as he has obvious quality.

Last time I saw him play for us was at Plymouth in December :(

arguably our best player when fully fit.

Ajay must be a contender for the Carl Ruffer trophy.

If the fee is good enough let him go. The money could then be put towards getting a striker in for AJ who I'd be sorry to see go but we can't afford to have someone who appears to be permanently injured.

Of all your many years of watching Morecambe, who are your own nominee's?

The striker we signed from Queen of the South a few years ago must be a contender,Sean O'Conner, think I only saw him play one game!

Andy Milner. Bagged 3 against us, paid £15k for him and he just got injured.

Paul West, Andy Farrell....

Sean picked up a very bad injury early on with us and then came back too early and promptly got injured again. He was another we signed who had a bad injury record. 16 appearances in two years wasn’t a great return, especially when he was in the same squad as Carl Ruffer.

Freez picked the obvious ones. Another one who loved the physios bench was Will Haining.

But the worst offender was Paul Scott. Eight appearances in two years. There wasn’t anything that didn’t get injured.

Jimmy Kelly who came on the same transfer day as Sean "Sheephead" O'Connor and Carl Ruffer I think.

Out of the 5 players announced that day only the great Michael Twiss turned out to be the real deal.

Errmm... excuse me. Jimmy “The Crab” Kelly.

I think it was about five years after he left that we found out that before he joined us he’d been charged with murder and ending up being convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to five years in prison.

Mark Ceralo was another one who couldn't keep fit. He had a terrible injury and was never quite the same after it. Did Matty Lambert play for us wearing some sort of knee brace? Keith Hill and Dave Miller were both ready for the knackers yard but they were well in to their late 30's.

Sheep heed would have scored plenty but for that injury, Ockers namesake was the secret weapon but Twiss was something else, what a player.

The other new signing that day when we signed 5 players was keeper Adam Sollitt.

I can't remember much about him or how long he lasted with us but by the 2006/07 play-off victory we had Steven Drench and Scott Davies.

Yes ofcourse and I still have the Black tracksuit and long sleeved wright & Lord sponsored home shirt from that season but best of all I bought my lad a signed, framed Michael Twiss artwork from the club shop cabin next door to Peter Howard's office.

I remember Adam Sollitt pulling off one of the greatest saves I have ever seen live. I think it was in the game where Peter Thompson scored an overhead but that might just be my muddled memory.

Sollitt played for us in 2004/05, the year Fretwells Butchers were selling "Gazetta De La Shrimp" sausages 8-)

It was heading for the top corner and he swung round mid air palming it round the angle?

I'm sure RR will spot it, but anyone else noticed the great spelling of Scarbrorugh? Surely no more difficult than Morecombe? ;)
