Should be a good evenly matched workout against the Manchester United Under 23's.
Would be better if it was in the EFL Leasing.com Trophy though.

Would be cheaper to keep the cameramen/staff on furlough I would think

A nice idea but iFollow is run by the EFL exclusively for league games and EFL trophy games (excluding semis and final), and as much as the commentary is done from our side, Morecambe as a football club have no control over what games to stream.

A number of EFL clubs are already playing pre season friendlies.

Carlise Utd lost 4-2 to Fleetwood at Fleetwood's impressive training facility.

No doubt we've got others penciled in but obviously behind close doors.

Just a shame that the Man Utd game will be behind closed doors as that would have attracted a fair number to the ground and more importantly put some much needed pennies in the coffers.

Correct, we have no control over the broadcast of IFollow other than providing commentary, we are entirely at the whim of the EFL.
Most staff are furloughed, including cameramen, from the company who run it, and as we have never ever broadcast friendlies, I think it’s pretty certain to be a no.
MUTV is a possibility, but again, they would have to provide their own cameras etc, not just piggy back of whoever is providing the stream of live pictures. As for that, I have no idea tbf.

Could they just get someone with a phone to stream it to Facebook or similar? It would be fairly poor quality but better than nothing, and I'm sure plenty of us starved of watching Morecambe would tune in!

Must admit, I was wondering similar. Set up a wide angle, fixed camera and do commentary on a Facebook Live stream or something similar?

PS TO avoid any doubt, that's a wide angle lens pointed towards the pitch, not towards the commentators, although, they would need a wide angle to get them in! 8-)

Our season could start on 29th August.

The EFL League cup 1st round is expected to start as early as 29th August.

The following weekend 5th September is an international weekend so if Morecambe were to draw a Championship team then it would be played 29th August. If we draw a team that does not have international call-ups then it would be played on 5th September.

Cardboard Cup would be covered by IFollow.
As for trying to broadcast the friendlies, we as a team on IFollow are still not aware that we’ve clearance to attend a friendly as yet.
The semantics of broadcasting we will look into, as has been said, Facebook live maybe, but we can look into that IF We are allowed to attend, that’s all I can say at the moment!

think there's a very good chance it will be on MUTV, might be worth checking the TV guides.
