I cannot think of any major benefit to finishing the season, the cons far outweigh the pros, and as most clubs are in favour of scrapping the season a decision needs to be made , sooner the better.

I think the main obstacle to closing the season is the question of promotion and relegation. I can envisage some clubs taking legal action if it is proposed they are relegated or prevented from having a chance of promotion. I cannot understand the national league decision to finish for the season before they have decided about promotion or relegation. I can see a club like AFC Fylde taking legal advice if it is decided as they are in the bottom four they should be relegated. Clubs might argue they were improving when the shut down came and could have gained enough points to stay up. Equally it seems very unfair no decision has been made about Barrow. They surely deserve promotion. It's all a very tricky area and I doubt there is anything in the rule book to resolve it.
