Credit where it's due - I thought Cambridge had done their homework and knew our frailties. From the off they were trying to attack down our left, and often had 2 men on Phillips. Fortunately for us, they didn't have the quality to back up the plan, otherwise it could have been a disastrous day at the office.

I don't think Slew is quite game-ready yet, but I also don't feel he warrants the stick he's getting. I'd love to see a heat map of where he was on the pitch on Saturday, as he seemed to be a second LB rather than playing as a winger. The goal showed what he can do - cut inside, beat a man and then create something of danger in the box. If he could spend more time doing that rather than assisting Conlan, I think we'd see more of what DA sees.

Our left side is much less of an issue, when Carlos is over there, tracking back to give Conlan some cover, which he does really well. Carlos does many things well I suppose. :D

It's still the same problem though, surely? The issue isn't the winger tracking back, it's the LB who constantly needs cover to do their own job...

Yes sure N. My point is, that as a combination, LC and CMG, are much “safer” than LC and JS. If the funds are available? The correct player available? Then a new LB, could hopefully strengthen that position. If not, then at least we have the ammo to help ourselves.

Isn't Cranston on the list of players DA doesn't want?

Cranston used to be voted MOTM regularly, but then his performances seemed to drop off until he was no longer selected for the starting 11, and then finally dropped altogether. Not sure why.....

Agreed. Conlon always looks vulnerable and a weakness. Great therefore to see Cranny back in the side for tonight's game v Walsall. Let's hope he keeps his head! Full-back is not his best position, we know, but well done to DA for giving him another go!
