Surely the club must have a replacement ready and waiting

There are only 72 FL jobs so there will be plenty of interest. It does feel like this has been a slow burner and the club has had time to react. Maybe that was a condition before the club agreed to release Jim?

I heard think it was on radio lancs the approach came on tuesday.

Be interesting to see which backroom staff go with Jim.

If the Goal-keeping coach Lee Jones goes to AFC Fylde that leaves a position vacant that Barry Roche could fill initially as a Player/coach and when he hangs up his gloves he would become the full time goal keeper coach. With Lee Jones's wages going this would be a saving on the club's expenditure.

I can see Drummond taking charge like a caretaker role.

but we need to take the next appointment serious, we can still stay up, loads of points to play for and I'm sure if we get our act together we can finish above Stevenage.

I just hope they give whoever comes in, plenty of flexibility and the time needed.

changing managers, is it 5 or six over the last two seasons now at Oldham? I've lost count, doesn't work and the league position is still the same.

Any "new" manager as opposed to the cheap option of caretakers RR style , will have to be given financial support in January if we are to stay up, which ,bearing in mind the club is for sale, looks unlikely.

The new manager must be somebody from outside the club, somebody totally new with new ideas somebody who doesnt already know the players and can shake them all up.

+1. Last thing we need is someone from within as it'll inevitably just be the "same old". We need new ideas, new blood. We need a manager who is also going to challenge other aspects of the club, not just what happens on the pitch. The whole thing is stale. I was hoping that the new owners would shake things up a bit, but sadly they've not. With or without Jim, the entire club (all aspects) can't just expect different results from continuing to do the same things. Yes, I know people will trot out the usual excuse of money, but there's so much that could be improved that costs little or nothing, but those in the inner circle "know best".

Still the same communications problems persist. We've heard nothing from Rod and Graham for months now. And, despite all the rumour this weekend, still no official announcement from the club re Jim. I do wish the inner circle would stop treating fans like mushrooms.

You have a Trust................use it!
Jot down on a piece of paper your concerns and hand it to one of them, this would seem the best form of mediation as things stand but engagement with the fans is no more important than ever, the club needs to heal and come to together, both on and off the pitch.

I agree Ken. Needs a shake up completly. A new manager who has no connections that will work and build the club back up again.

While I don't disagree, look at Arsenal and what they're going through this season, I think there needs to be an understanding that we probably won't get a manager who will be around as long as Jim, and if we manage to get the wrong person, we shouldn't be afraid to move on after giving them some time to bed in (5 or 6 in two seasons is definitely too kneejerk though)

How ironic that would be.

Personally IF it is someone from outside I'd be looking at Ian Evatt at Barrow.

Also I would expect though I doubt we'll be told that AFC Fylde have agreed to some financial compensation which when a team comes knocking on the door of your manager usually happens.

Won’t be evatt RR he has just signed an extended contract at barrow . Does the compo count if the manager resigns , I would doubt it !

Jim resigned. No pay off and no compensation.
