Massive day tomorrow for the future of Bury Fc

There is a vote to see if they will start 2020 - 2021 season in league two or not

Personally I think they should start next season in North West Counties league and work there way back from there just like other clubs have done in the past

What do other people think ????

Cartainly makes things harder for us.

Bury are a basket case. Allegedly not paying the CVA, HMRC winding up petition pending shortly and same gentleman who has overseen a lot of this mess still in charge. Wouldn't this also need some sort of massive rule change from the EFL to allow? Just can't see anything changing, so still only one down this season.

The worrying thing is that on recent form we look hot favourites for that one spot. Long time to go and all, but still very worrying.

What would have been the answer if EFL had come to Morecambe at the time of the PMG share fiasco. What solid evidence could they show the league they had the funds to see out the season. Turned out the money wasn't there every month. That was a close call.

Bury have been kicked out in similar circumstances, I don't think they should have been. Both MFC Ltd and Bury Ltd are trading, Morecambe are still there, Bury gone. The league made a hasty decision which I think will come back to haunt them soon.

We're different to Bury, and i think we'd actually get more sympathy.

"Bury" have small fan base and have over spent, and pay players like Jermaine Beckford £9000 per week

"Morecambe" have a small fan base and pay players peanuts.

And at times, neither have been able to pay their players.

Morecambe aren't the only club that could have found themselves at the wrong end of EFL scrutiny at the wrong time. Bury made their situation headline news which was part of their downfall.

Still think the decision could be unique.

I think next season in L2 is fair enough. The fans aren't to blame for the mismanagement. It could happen to any club.

Bet Victor Northern League North West in my opinion.
Clubs have to learn to play and compete within their financial means and Bury should take the big hit for failing to do so. Besides, the NLNW is an interesting league in which they'd have plenty of local derbies and new grounds for the fans to visit, before steadily rising to wherever their appropriate place is.
There's absolutely no thought at all (honest) about there just being one place for relegation this season (unless Bury are given a free ride back .)

If they are re-instated for next season where is the punishment for financial irregularities? Paying big wages going into administration and then being told take a season out and start from scratch?

I can't see them being in League Two. By the end of this season, no manager, physios, kit man, sponsors, or quite importantly, players, ready to start League Two next season? How can they cobble together a team? Also, if they hadn't over-spent to get promoted last season, it would all have gone wrong this season and they'd have started on -12 points in League Two instead.

It would be a daring precedent to set.

Really feel for their fans all the same.

The 71 EFL clubs have voted today that Bury can NOT be re-admitted into League 2 next season.

Wonder how close the vote was

The right decision in my opinion, only one team going down at the end of this season lets just hope its not us.

I think I’m right in saying that the National League must accept a team relegated/expelled from the Football League as part of the automatic promotion/relegation agreement.

Boston United? They weren't allowed to play in the conference leagues when they were relegated.I think it depends on the situation finacially.

We might be saying goodbye to another NW club with the Macclesfield players and staff going unpaid again. Imagine the excitement on here with potentially no relegation!

Macclesfield are just one of many clubs that are on the brink according to lots of various reports I have been reading recently

The likes of Bury could be the first of many league clubs to be kicked out of the football league

We should just be grateful that we have a club to support - FOR NOW !!!!!!!

I posted a statement put out by the Macc players who fear that the club is going under. It isn't a report, it is much more drastic than that. It is almost a cry for help.

So if Macc are thrown out of the league.their results will be expunged! Our only win this season will be no more.
