I used to do quite a bit of work in Barrow, and I can assure you it does get hot at times, although probably not on Walney Island, where those Irish Sea breezes never stop blowing.

There seems to be a change of our pre-season format. Gone are the home games with the likes of PNE and other Championship sides in which we spend 90 minutes chasing the ball. Accrington would appear to be the highest ranked opposition and the away game at Barrow will be a reasonable test. I would have liked Chorley away and maybe Kendal Town although Kendal could emerge for a development squad game.
