Beat Mansfield 3-5 on penalties

My mistake regarding Newport who now play either Tranmere or FGR

According to Sky tv commentator last night,Newport have achieved the play offs despite one of the 3 lowest budgets for the season in l2,just shows again that money is not everything, just saying!

8000 Notts County fans would agree 100% with that.

They bagged circa £2 million from their FA Cup run the season just finished and with gates of 8000 their income per month is still way above ours and a number of other clubs in the league.

I can imagine the players did well out of win bonuses and possibly cup incentives.

Good luck to them...maybe next season we can do something similar re FA Cup run... :?: :?: :?:

If you think Newport will average 8,000 attendances you are dreaming. Their ground doesn't even hold that  !

And a manager is sacked just because they failed in the play offs....

FFS that's bloody ridiculous.

If Mansfied use that as the criteria at their club going forward then they deserve to be in a relegation dog fight and the sooner the better.

On the Stags forum they are talking about having a budget of £3 million and that for some it has been wasted.

An inexperienced in-house Youth Team Manager has been appointed which has divided opinions.

Losing £10,000,000 per year!
Sold 5,000 season tickets, used to sell 10,000.
Average attendance 11,827
Ex-Premiership club
In the last four season, sold more than £21 million pounds worth of players (plus half a dozen "undisclosed").
In the same period, they spent £2.6 million plus eight "undisclosed" fees.

All that one league above us?

Sorry... I'm not sure what it is you're "just saying"?

So how did that work out then?
