O/T 'You Don't Know Jack'

Mention of Ricky Gervais on the 'prom' thread reminds me...

I always laugh at those ads with the google-eyed 'reporter/comedian' trying to make members of the public look stupid - slogan 'You Don't Know Jack' (advertising Jack Daniels??)

That bloke was the frontman on some Channel 4 programme called Friday Night Project or something - he was the star, the person who ran the whole show (obviously anticipated going on to much bigger and better things).

Both Ricky Gervais AND Ali G had very minor cameo slots on that programme. The other 'sidekicks' were Mackenzie Crook, who has since starred in The Office and a couple of blockbuster films, and Daisy Donovan who later had her own series.

I'm itching for him to approach me in the street filming an ad and try to make a mug of me - I have my lines prepared!
