I read with sadness and memories of the death of Geoff Slack who i went to school with and a crowd of us including Geoff used to play footie at the corner of Grange St and Newmarket St using the Craggs Hotel garage door os a goal and i was always the one who tried to stop him scoring. A great player who also played for Morecambe Old Grammarians. My sympathy goes to his family

Geoff was born in Morecambe and played for the club from 1956, Stockport paid £750 for him in 1958, ended up at Netherfield and Horwich.
he was a hard tackling half back, and was often seen at CP over the years.
condolances to all his family.
