Looks as though PNE pair Hawley and Ormerod are on their way to the Shrews in a combined package deal worth £150,000. Financed no doubt partially by the commercial gains from their new stadium.

Nuff said?

Considering the amount of money that their Commercial arm is generating from the new stadium I would say it's a logical conclusion.

How much money is their commercial arm making from the new stadium? It would be interesting to know given our own plans.

It was well documented on their site a while back that since the new stadium opened that their commercial revenue had increased considerably due to it being in constant use 7 days a week.

It's logical to assume that an increase in revenue will be contributing towards the running costs of the parent club. Something that our new development is planned to do likewise.

There was a figure of £750,000 profit from their banquetting etc for a period that was not a full year given recently.

the commercial side of things seems to be helping alot with clubs now...rather that attendences...as you see from shrews most of the money is coming from conferences and events at the ground.

I really can't see it happening - Hawley + Ormerod although yes they are making a hell of alot of money from the banquating suite although thats business for you and that is the name of the game nowadays. As for these strikers.....they today signed Nick Chadwick, ex-Plymouth, Everton + recently Hereford loanee.
Holt is now suspended for another 2 games! AGAIN!! 10 yellows so far this season!

You should know by now that CC only reports facts ;) ;) ;) not fiction    or what's been read on another forum; in this case the Football Forum.

Latest is that it seems that Hawley is earmarked to sign but that Ormerod isn't.

Evidently the original info came from that usually reliable news station Radio Lancashire.

:?: :?: :?:

Could have done with a 'tongue in cheek' smiley!

Another point to remember about the Shrews profit from banquetting of £750,000 is that the actual turnover to achieve a profit of £750,000 could well be £1.5 million and it is turnover that they use to work out the 60% wage cap rule.

Might not be tongue in cheek with all the reports I keep reading which suggest you are correct but I still cannot see both of them, certainly not Omerod. Hawley, although I would still like to say no way, he might...just might follow Simpson to Shrews as he did Carlisle and later Preston? Trouble is the Shrews are over run with strikers! One rumour from down these parts is that Ben Davies (club captain, who took over from Drummy) attacking midfielder, could be on his way out? Got dropped against Bradford last week and rumours of a transfer higher up the leagues although he states himself he wants to stay.
Now Ben Davies would be an excellent addition!!
