Why wait until now to tell Sammy there is no money available for players, or on the other hand why waste your time eyeing players up if you know there isn´t any money available. . And if he cant buy until he sells , do other clubs know who we have for sale . Looks like we are going to have to plod along until the end of the season. Catch 22, we need to score more goals to attract bigger crowds and we need bigger crowds to bring in the revenue to get that goal scorer.

Keith wrote:As I said a while ago, I'm happy to see this squad complete this season and then look at who is released. Especially with the 'credit crunch' I think we may see some good deals as clubs work harder to balance the books, with a knock on that released players may not be asking huge sign on fees and will be settling for lower wages.
Does anyone know when Rene's contract is up? He may be released at the end of the season too? If we were able to pick up Danny & Rene on 'frees' that will be worth waiting for.

I use youtube mode on my pocket camera. SonyCentre at Cheshire Oaks had a good Sony CV camcorder for £145 less 10%, can't remember the model and I got dragged out of the shop before I could get my credit card out

They may want to see how much new cash they may have to invest (and how quickly it arrives) before bringing people in on, say, two year contracts.
When we know how the early parts of the ground move (sale of Christie Park etc) impact on our finances it will give us a better idea of what type of players we can afford to go looking for.
In any case, however the future may be looking I think for this season we are still bound by our salary cap that will have been fixed at the start of the season.
We may still be in roughly the same position next season or we may be a bit better off. But it may be (and I'm only guessing) that they'll not want to make too many big contract commitments until we know more accurately about our budgets for next season and beyond.
And, as RedRedWine says, we're not 'too' badly off at the moment so no big need for short-term fixes.

Maybe, just maybe we should start looking from within at some of the young prospects coming up from the academy, reserves etc.
As many people keep going on about this credit crunch it would be more prudent to blood some of the lads, give them a try. Some of the teams we have played this season have had younger lads in the side - might be a bit radical but you never know!!!

Looks like that unless we sell on some players we can't bring anone else is as we've gone over our wage cap for the season. Unless a magic fairy comes along, waves her magic wand and gives us instant cash!
