Goal of the Season to date

Goal of the Season to date

Postby Christies Child » Wed Dec 31, 2008 10:15 am

And so, as we head for the start of a new year and the end of the first part of season 2008 / 2009 I thought it would be good to look back at the goals we have scored to date and put forward my suggestion for Goal of the Season to date.

Based purely on the games that I've seen at home, my Goal of the Season is Rene Howe's against Macclesfield only a few days ago. It had both an element of outstanding skill and vision but for me it was a sign of a player who has tremendous confidence in his own ability but without the arrogance often associated with players of natural talent.

I'm sure others on this forum will have their own GoS just as worthy of that of Rene's.

:) :) :)

I'd have to go with that, it even made it into the showboat on soccer am.

I quite liked Rene's against Darlo because it was such a good move but, on balance, I'd say

1 Diarmuid at Barnet
2 Rene v Macc
3 Danny at Luton

I also liked Michael Carr's at Barrow pre-season.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

As did Rene's against Macc, though that was probably thanks to Drummond's pass.
