why is it free for under 14s why not 16s

kids are still dependent on parents, and in my book, only at 16 when they are expected to leave school and fend for themselves should they be expected to pay.

i took my nephew today who's turned 15, and he was challenged about his age.

just cant understand the logic behind this.

Why don't you email the club and ask them?

i suppose i can do, just thought it was common knowledge going by topics on here down the years that's it's a joke when sending e-mails to the commercial department and getting no replies.

thanks the input.

Are you actually serious? The free 14s scheme is a fantastic genture by the club. 14-18 only £5 (£6) to sit down. Give the club a break

not saying it isn't a fantastic gesture, surly it would be better at 16yrs of age, for obvious reasons already mentioned.

and its a valid question.

I'm not completely sure, but I think it has something to do with the legal standing of potential 14 year olds under being unaccompanied by a responsible adults in the ground as to why the cut off is set at that age for that particular deal. Unaccompanied U14s would be the clubs responsibility to ensure safety at all times; which is why the free primary school leavers season tickets were discontinued (?). I think most airlines are the same. Not saying free U16s isn't a good idea; just trying to put forward a suggestion at to why U14s is the prescribed cut off; I don't think it has anything to do with kids ability to afford the admittance fee.

maybe RRW, just been doing some research and looked at the top 10 family friendly clubs in the FL and they all do family season ticket deals like this

1 X adult & 1 X U16 or

2 X U16
1 X U17
1X U18

and so on, so just cant understand cutting it off at 14 :?
