So what is NCS?

National Citizen Service (NCS) is a unique full time part-residential programme focused around fun and discovery, plus a community project that benefits both young people and society. You will build skills for work and life, while taking on new challenges and adventures, making new friends, and contributing to the local community. The programme is exclusive to 15-17 year olds (You currently have to be in year 11 and you cannot turn 18 while on the residential.)

What you will get up to..?

Our summer programme consists of 3 phases:
Phase 1: We will take you away for an all-expenses paid activity residential to Lockerbie (Scotland). You will take part in such activities as kayaking, abseiling, archery, raft building just to name a few of the many fun activities available.
Phase 2: Following your activity residential just a week later we will take you an all-expenses paid residential to Lancaster University. This residential is all about working together and starting to design your social action plan to delivery in phase 3.
Phase 3: THE IMPORTANT PART!!! The Social action plan (Community project) will give you a fantastic opportunity to design and carry out a project that will help your local community in whatever way you decide. In this phase you will be given full responsibility of the project, which you will gain skills that you can use in whatever path you decide to follow after school/college.

The Dates:

Activity residential: Monday 20th July to Friday 24th July.
Location: Lockerbie manor, Scotland.

Community residential: Monday 27th July to Friday 31st July.
Location: Lancaster University.

You will plan and deliver your social action plan from Monday 3rd August to Friday 7th August.

The important stuff...

To book your place on our summer programme you will need to complete one of our forms signed by your parent/guardian. You will also need to pay a £30 deposit which will be refunded to you once you have completed the programme.
