Why do we do so well against the top teams? Is it that -
we are more motivated?
or that the top teams underestimate us?
or that the top teams concentrate on winning and allow us more opportunities?
or that we set up differently against the better clubs?

I think we were at our best last season when sitting back, soaking up pressure and playing on the break. Playing against the better sides affords us that opportunity as they will attack us. Playing against the crap teams will shift onus onto us to attack them, especially at home, which is where our lack of creativity in midfield probably comes into it.

Hopefully this is one area that Jimbo sees as an area in need of attention and if the signings to date are part of the solution then the future looks a lot brighter.

If we sign Wildig to add to Devitt and the two other new signings, that's a pretty creative midfield, hope we sign a league 2 Matic next and will be looking pretty dam good

Really impressed me when with Bury atr The Globe this season.

Maybe lost some pace but a superb organizer who Jimbo knows very well from the way they greeted each other at the end of that game. Replacement for Hughes....

As I said on a different thread a while ago, I think the better teams tend to play more open, attacking football, which gives us more space to play on the ground and to feet. Where we get stymied is where teams lock us down and force us into the air. Maybe if we moved the ball more quickly, paticularly in midfield, we could do better generally. I thought we were starting to do this with a Devitt/Wildig/Fleming triumvirate towards the end of the season

I'd pine for the fact we defend better against teams trying to play football, and can't hack defending against those teams that just lump it to a big target man.
The top12 teams generally try to play better football.

Remove Northampton just to make the tables even better/worse.

If we removed all 23 teams, we would be top Or would we be bottom.
