TOP 7 next season ????

TOP 7 next season ????

Postby Pablo » Thu Apr 23, 2015 8:23 pm

This season has been up and down regarding results and league position.
A bit more luck in certain games we could have been in the top 7 this year. For a club our size this would have been fantastic.
Points wise we are well away from top 3 and auto promotion. But to be in top 7 would of only needed an extra 10-15 points.
THOUGHTS on
1. Can we get these extra points next season. If so how??
2. If promoted, could we stay in league 1 ??

PAUSE FOR THOUGHT....... Bigger clubs have been up there and are in free fall now.
Up the football league we go

Q 1) no. evidence says the same brand of football will be played.

Q 2) others the same size as us have done it before.

With belief, confidence, support, encouragement etc etc, anything is possible.

I believe (with some team strengthening and ideally an input of £££) our management team of Jim and Ken can (and will) achieve great things with us.

I agree with you. A few tweaks here and there it can and will be done.
I'll be interested in what odds the bookies give for this top 7 aim.
Was 10-1 this season which I thought was a bit low on last years finish.
Looking forward to the comings and goings over the next few weeks.

Maybe I'm being pessimistic but I wonder how much of our present strong defence stats are as a result of Scott Davies and Danny Ward. I know we get Baz back next season but do we really think he is as good as these two? Great stopper but distribution nowhere near as good and it does feel as if our defence had more confidence when we had these two loanees. I know we can't afford the quality of these two but I'm sure they've had an impact on our performances this year.

He's not a patch on the first few seasons, and his operation will surely have had an effect on his future fitness. Hopefully for his sake, and ours, he'll be able to rediscover some of that earlier form but at least we do have a competitive no.2 in Andreas.
