Living as he does in Hereford though, I would think he'd need some sort of relocation package.

Freez speaks highly of him, which is all I've seen of him!

Signed until the end of this season.

For me more than an adequate replacement for Fleming and IF we could get Perks on board during the summer then all we would need then would be to find a goal scoring midfielder.

Sounds so easy......but of course it isn't.... :?: :?: :?:

Good footballer with an agile mind and an eye for a pass, some nice interplay at York with Flemo and Devitt going forward with a good engine.
Not very big and defensively is OK but not very physical, which in this division can make a difference.
Nice hair too!!!

Reminds me of Steve Holden (for our older fans...!!) to look at him from a distance !!

Counts for nothing with Shrewsbury if they've only seen fit to play him in one game in L2.

They certainly won't think he'll cut it in L1.

Could be wrong but I think he was their player of the year in their last season in L1 but has rather oddly found himself out of favour in League 2.

Set to be released. A very good, honest lad who gives it his all but not one of Mellons 'boys'. Been a little injured this season and still not quite back to 100%. Will he sign permanent if offered? Who knows, I would imagine it all depends who else comes calling and what he thinks his chances are of playing regular footie as that is all he wants but he is not a northern lad and was playing for Cardiff only 4 years ago. Would be a welcome addition though

To clarify a few things, we didn't have an official player of the season award last season, the award ceremony was cancelled following our relegation. Wildig certainly started last season off well with us but tailed off amidst injury and the whole team's struggles. I wouldn't say he divides opinion as many Shrews fans rate him. He's been with us about three and a half years now, with mixed success IMO. He took advantage of an extension option in his contract at the start of this season but hasn't had a look in with the quality of midfielders in our squad this season. Our manager has said he didn't arrive in pre season in as good a condition as some of the others which may have pushed him down the pecking order. Labelled an attacking midfielder he certainly needs to improve his goals and assists stats. I don't think he will be offered another contract with us and a change of scenery may see him get his career back on track. He certainly seems to be doing well with you so he may become a permanent fixture soon. Good luck in your last couple of games ;)

Cheers, you have been the best team to play us this season and we will miss our trip to Shrewsbury. Do you think Mr Mellon can take you further? A bit sorry for him when he got dumped, will be a feisty game against Fleetwood no doubt.
Wildig has made a difference in midfield in that we now have a connection from the back to the front! We generally get our squad sorted early so the next couple of months will be interesting at the ******** Arena
Good luck

He'll want to see what other offers are on the table first no doubt but he's better than what we've got (williams Wright) at the minute so would be good to sign him permanent along with a winger an left back if possible.

I think the fact that we are spending money to loan him for 2 matches that have nothing at stake for us suggests that Jim wants to sign him.

If we could sign David Perkins as well that would give us a proper midfield.

+1, he was apparently seen in the Hurley Flyer talking to a man in a suit wearing a Morecambe tie.

2+2 = 104 :?

Seems a bit extreme just to get the 25% FCoM discount?

Xavi and Iniesta would struggle to influence a game if they played in our midfield! Only thing our midfielders get are stiff necks from watching the ball sail over their head time and time again!

I have heard Perkins is on £8k at Blackpool. I cant see us being able to match that unless we chuck in a few pairs of flip flops for him as an incentive!

This talk of Perkins is ridiculous an it's not guna happen at all. He could still easily play in most league one sides an at his age he'll be wanting to earn as much money as he can before he hangs his boots up. If we had the finances of Portsmouth Northampton or one of the other big spenders in our league then we might of had half a chance but sadly we haven't so all stop dreaming an start thinking of other realistic targets !
