Superb story on Radio 4 about what happened then and after. How he found it, how he met Greg Lambert in a hairdressers, how it became a global story (and how he was used by the press and TV), and then the story of what happened to his beloved dog Madge and then what really happened to the ambergris. Really well worth a listen and a sad turn towards the end.

how lives can be changed by something so simple

I thought I would start looking for Ambergris on the beach after I first heard this story but I got sick after a whale.

Was it just a sperm of the moment thing then Shrimplythebest ?

the beach at morecambe has had more than its fair share of 'sperm' , 'whales' and 'vomit' ovr the years,particularly around the carleton area,and under the old pier!!
