I am somewhat disappointed by the performance from lads tonight with possibly the exception of "Hughesy" who probably deserved his sponsors man of the match. There seemed to be a real nervousness across the park from the off with no one really putting a foot on the ball and picking out a positive forward pass. Again the number of stray passes, second to every ball and lack of challenges to the persistent long balls was frustrating to say the least. I think the confidence of the players at home has really taken a knock in recent weeks but I don't mind getting beat 4-1 at home by a better side if I could say that the lads have given their all. Obviously they were always going to be up against it when Stav saw red but I would of thought Kev or Drummond would have been taken off instead of Beeley who will run all day long. In my opinion we looked lethargic with the game passing some of our lads by and I suppose when I have driven an hour to work done a 12 hour shift driven home for 10 mins to change and get in the ground as the ref blows to start the game then I want to see that same desire to be at The Globe from those I am paying £17 to see PLAY. I will continue to support the team without any hint of me staying away but I do want "effort and commitment" whatever the situation or strength/quality of the team we are up against.

Beeley was the obvious choice as he had just been clattered and was hobbling about. He was already carrying a knock from Saturday.
Hope they can get some shots on target at training to give our teenage goalie some practice - good luck to him

the midfield isn't fit for purpose, I'd drop the lot of them. and play the kids for the rest of the season, blood them now, at least they would show more spirit.

Yep, agreed, but I can't see Jim getting rid of last night's three!

For all those who criticise and want rid of Goodall, Kenyon and Williams, can you honestly, hand on heart, say that Drummy, Wright and Flemmo were any better last night? I thought they were hopeless. Flemmo, with his constant side and back passing. Drummy with far more wayward passes than decent ones, and Wright was simply lazy and spent most of his time arguing with Paz. All three are part of Jim's "untouchables" club that seemingly are expecting (and given) a place in the starting 11 unless they're injured. At least Flemmo puts in some effort, shame he's not got any ability to think.

Over the last 3 home games I have witnessed Hughesy getting on Stav's case, Andy Wright arguing with Paz and last night on at least 3 occasions Kev let his feelings be known that he had not received a pass from Jack when in an attacking position. If the lads are frustrated with each other then it is not surprising that the TEAM is lacking cohesion on the pitch and showing signs of nerves when on the ball.

The same Andy Wright that spent most of the first part of the season on the bench before he got injured?

I get so annoyed with Jack Redshaw. Clearly the lad has bags of ability and on his day is a match winner but his work rate and and anticipation is poor at best. I have lost count how many times the defender just nips round Jack and cuts out the pass. He is always on the back foot and constantly ball watching which means he is never ready to receive the ball. Paul Mullin wins lots of freekicks by just getting in front of the defender, getting clipped and going down and should have been brought onto replace Jack about the same time Jimbo made the most pointless substitution ever seen in professional football.

I really do sometimes wonder if I go to the same matches as others on SVs.....

To say that Jack's work rate is poor is laughable. Every match he plays he does more than his fair share in looking for the ball in midfield and beating one, two and often three opposition players who are all trying to stop him. I lost count of the times last night when he had to work back to win the ball in an attempt to get some momentum to what was a lethargic display from others in a red shirt.

If others around him had the same intent then we wouldn't be in the 'shit' that our overall standard of play has delivered.

How many times do our defenders look for an outlet upfront and play the ball into the flanks looking for a run into the channels? After about 5 minutes last night, a ball was played inbetween their left CB and LB. Jack jut looked at it but Kevin Ellison steamed past Jack and tried to get on the end of the pass. Jack always jogs towards the ball rather than trying to stretch the back line of the defenders. His forward play leaves a lot be desired for me.

At the start of the second half Jack blazed a shot wildly over the bar when a simple pass across the 6 yard box would have left Kev with a tap in. Podge and Mullin lead the line much better than Jack but dont have his ability to beat a man.

On last nights showing very little of either, harsh maybe but sometimes the truth hurts.
