Is it worth re-posting the prediction league and starting a new thread for Saturday, or do we wait for Mr F to give us the all clear?

In very simple terms, if shrimpsvoices were a book, all the pages except the index have been ripped out.

Unfortunately, we've now run two of the back-ups and still have a problem. I think this is as good as it gets, as something has clearly caused a massive failure. I could ask them to try another of the back ups, but we've done the earliest & latest of the five, so I doubt if the ones in between will work

What would worry me is not knowing the cause and I wouldn't be happy leaving it in a semi-corrupt state, you don't know what else it could cause to go wrong. It's also an opportunity to consider different forum software such as Simple Machines Forum, MyBB or Vanilla Forums and start afresh.

Keith, why not use this as an opportunity to "lose" some of the more undesirable posters on here, know what I mean, nudge nudge, wink wink.

Any recommendations? I've no chance of investigating a different forum this weekend, but the following week I may have?

Is there a way of using an android app for the current forum. to make it more mobile friendly?

seriously though. A forum that you could use more easily when your at the game could enhance the whole shrimpsvoices experience. More views and half time updates and stuff. There are apps out there, just not sure what they do or if they are any good.

Ta! When I looked at things in the summer, it wasn't too clear, without spending cash, what would work. This has been okay as a forum until the server melted. I *think* there is an app to run with this but again, I think you have to pay for it.

It's a "phpbb" forum, search for that on a mobile app store and you'll probably find a few. There was one I posted some time ago but I can't remember the link.

All the forum software is free, shouldn't take me long to set up a few up.

The following are TEST forums in their basic configuration to see if there's a different forum application that Keith & you prefer. There's (probably) nothing wrong with this forum application, it's just a mess after the crash.

If I get time I'll try to add some plugins & themes to make them look & feel Morecambe'ish. I am hosting these and I am the moderator, they are for TESTING only and may be removed at any time, they'll certainly be removed in a few weeks. Any abuse will be zapped, anyone I don't like will be zapped, anything may be zapped.

Found an app called ez forum. Works well as a guest but doesn't seem to work when I log in. It does make the forum easier to use on a mobile.

SMF have some add-ons that look quite useful, including a calendar where we could add fixtures etc. I think it has a mobile app too.

Tapatalk seems popular, 5 million downloads from the play store. Never used it myself though.

Calendar's built-in, now enabled as are the Karma and Warning features. Now to find some red SMF themes.
