Offside?

Darlo fans seem to think that Rene's goal was off side.

Having slowed the replay from TV right down to frame by frame....Rene was JUST on side to receive Drummies clever through ball. :) :) :)

Can't recall the game when we suffered from a dubious through ball.....??????/

I must admit i was very surprised when Rene scored and i looked at the linesman and he wasnt flaging for offside because it looked like Rene was off to me

Who cares, we've had plenty go against us, remember Port Vale ?

I thought he was level when the pass was played.

....according to our friends in Darlo, they reckon that Rene has told one of 'em that he was offside!

So what if he was. The phrase swings and roundabouts come to mind. We were robbed of a point at Port Vale because of a dubious offside decision, as we were away at Gillingham when we were on top of the game first 15 minutes and another dodgy offside goal. It all evens itself out.

He wasn't IMO. And I don't care what Rene said. When you're running on to a ball and trying to get in front of your marker you're not in the best position to judge whether, at the moment the pass was made, another opponent a few yards away was keeping you onside (which I think he was).
Rene had his eye on the ball and the bloke who was challenging him for it. Watch the clip, there's a bloke in the middle keeping him on, by the look of it.

....as if I'd be fooled into actually believing that Rene would even admit in jest to a Darlo fan that he knew he was offside...

It's very hard to tell, but on that evidence I'd say he's just past the other centre back in the middle, but just level with the (I assume) right back just behind him.

Who cares though :P
