Robbie Fowler

i think we should get him , at least on loan, because hes pure class and has scored goals at every level in the game. he should be given a chance by samm mcilyor , fowler was awesome for liverpool leeds and manchester city and cardiff and blackburn because hes a natural goal scorer. and thats what we need i think, he would also be an exceptional role model for the young lads such as aaeron taylor.
any opinions?

I suspect his salary demands would not be in our ballpark.

I've offered forward the fresh carcass of many an Ox in sacrifice to Robbie Fowler's divine glory in the past but I sincerely hope he just retires, now, before he taints his legend further.

Personally, I think there are better players we can sign out there than a fat, slow, injury prone past it old fart

Who's career stats read as follows :

1993-2001 Liverpool 236 (120)
2001-2003 Leeds United 30 (14)
2003-2006 Manchester City 80 (20)
2006-2007 Liverpool 30 (8)
2007-2008 Cardiff City 13 (4)
2008-present Blackburn Rovers 0 (0)
1996-2002 England 26 (7)

Many an old fart would be proud of those and regardless of your 'premiership affiliations' he deserves some respect - on his day nobody , but nobody... could touch him PFA young player of the year 2 years on the bounce 1996 /7 [I think]. A legend [nay GOD] for Liverpool whatever he does. The man was a scoring machine for a time and you may not of liked his 'cocaine sniffing antics' ..who did ; but a fantastic player.

Right, let me put my anorak on.

T'was 1994/1995 and again in 1995/1996 when he won the PFA Young Player of the Year Awards, actually. In those two seasons he scored a grand total of 67 goals, and in his first four seasons (three and a half, really) as a professional managed a total of 116 goals. After scoring 31 goals in 1996/1997 he was Liverpool's top scorer, once more, in 1997/1998 up until February 1998, when he suffered damaged cruciate ligaments during a challenge with Everton's Thomas Myhre ruling him out for what was expected to a year and, of course, forcing him to miss the 1998 World Cup Finals in France, where one Michael Owen stole the limelight. He never really recoverd from that injury, despite scoring 18 goals the following season.

Still, he should just keithing retire!

I think it'd be much less pathetic if that was the case, wouldn't it!? It was recitited purely from knowledge, however, save for looking up how to spell 'Myhre' correctly.

Respect maybe, but I'd rather we spent his probable large wages on someone who can still cut it.

I can't believe this topic has run into double figures now. Is this guy for real?? As much as I love Fowler and everything he's done, he's more likely to win the premier league with Blackburn than sign for us. Don't get me wrong he would be great if he did come here, but so would David Beckham, Thierry Henry and Paulo Maldini. Can we end all this lunacy and forget about a fairytale MFC-Fowler link up for GOD's sake.

Can't be often I've said "I agree with Bare Ben"?

In fact, this may even be a first?

Can't see much in his post that suggests that the word "tosser" would be appropriate, other than he reasonably pointed out that he disagreed with you?
