O/T Daft question I know but..

..I've a very effective SPAM filter on my PC which does its job....
On average I'm getting upwards of 30 odd a day. Small in comparison to others I believe.
However I'm concerend that the filtered SPAM stays hidden in the bowels of my PC. Is this correct and if so how can I get rid of it all? And if i can't get rid, does there come a point where it starts to affect performance.
Or having been rejected by the filter does it just bounce back to its sender?
OK I said it was a stupid question.....but I'd be interested in finding out where it goes.
