My goodness, you've mentioned KINGS compared to some of the players who were truly awful! (Well, okay Alan Morgan I'll give you).

Graham Gill would probably top my list. 6ft 2" unless he jumped, in which case he could reach 5ft 9". At Hyde Utd (on their plastic pitch) he actually stopped and looked up at a jumbo-jet that flew over as it was landing at Manchester Airport. This was as the game went on around him!

Andy Banks would come pretty high up my list of worst players. Steve Walters also. Tony Hughes would probably make my "worst 11" too.

Also, Dave Gardner was possibly one of the most talented players ever to play for Morecambe...

and definitely the most idle, lazy, couldn't be arsed, didn't give a toss if we won or lost player ever to play for Morecambe

Some of the names on this list thread are frankly ridiculous and actually pretty offensive. For example Neil Sorvel played in the Football League for a long time, played at Wembley for us and well has done enough to prove his worth. Similarly Shwan Jalal played in goal for Woking for a long time, made it to the England Semi-Pro side and sealed a big move to Peterborough. He may not have done it for us but is an ever present at Bournemouth. Even Dean Howell managed to play a lot of games for us, has exceptional pace (which is why everyone who has taken him on has done so) and a very powerful left foot. He even played one very good game for us away at Aldershot.

None of the above are in the same league as Alan Morgan. A one-man disaster area and the only one I've ever seen who could turn a game on its head when coming on as a sub - but for the opposition. 3-0 up to Southport and cruising, on comes sub Morgan, gives ball away every time, free kicks to them on box edge, 3-2 down and is then substituted from which point we retain ball and cruise to a tight win.

The only ones who come close are Matthew Gregoire - opposition goalie scored against him when it went through his hands; threw the ball into his own net twice; etc, and, possibly, Craig Robinson, who was just very poor.

If we're talking players who played for a long time and eluded the chop then I'd probably agree with Graham Gill, Steve Walters (for a record signing) and Andy Banks. I'd probably also chuck in Jimmy Kelly (who we failed to spot the five year gap in his career when he did time for manslaughter) and Danny Meadowcroft.

Talking of rotund, and not our worst players, but the final seasons of Andy Gouck and Billy Wright put Danny Adams to shame.

Neil Sorvell!!?? I can not believe that. Alan morgan and Dean Howell were terrible, and pretty much nailed on for my vote. My dad used to hate Kenny Mayers because he cleared his lines about 1 yard in distance and 50 yards in height.
Also with this talk of pace on the board Bradfords' Omar Daley is rapid but it begged belief how bad he was in front of goal at our place last year. He must have missed 5or 6 one on one chances, maybe just a bad day but i found it hilarious.

The thing with Kenny Mayers was he was an attacking midfielder/striker and when played in the correct position behind super Mike Bignall who once scored from 40 yards out Kenny was good. Then JH decided he should play him in deffence and he was never the same again.

Mike Bignall was another striker who was half decent but fell to the 4-4-1-1- system as he needed someone up front with him.

Now there is a name from around that time that has just come into my head Julian Dowe.
