Moaning fans the other night

Postby mounse mk2 » Fri Dec 05, 2008 1:08 am

Standing alone as i was the other night and doing less chanting/shouting/talking than normal, i did definitely hear 2 voices who don't normally stand near me and oh they were genius moaners.

Just because you've taken Brentford to the dizzy heights of qualifying for the Intertoto Cup on your computer game thingy does not make you a football expert.

Just because you were a games teacher at a well known Lancaster school that may begin with Rip and end with ley St Thomas, does not make you qualified to judge on Sammy's abilities because he plays a right footer at left back. You may once have played a left footer at right back and he may well have been crap and me.

You're the sort that applaud the opposition for remembering to wear their boots but critisise our right wing back and hence main right sided player for his instant first touch and first time ball but our lack of 'Total Football' instincts to have someone in his position.

You are the sort of people that praise Christopher Martin Jenkins and his unbiased commentary ignoring the fact that he never praises the England team ever, not ever. He will praise Bangladesh more than England. CMJ is not Aggers, not Blowers, he's not got amazing facts like Frindall, hes not Vic Marks, he's not even Simon Mann. You are the equivalent of CMJ. How does that make you feel?

You are the sort of football fans that quote Brian Glanville articles.

You are the sort of 'fans' that don't have the decency to applaud/cheer/go ballistic when 'your' team score but applaud like 'sportsmen' when the opposition do. Leave early when we win, stay to boo when we don't. The CMJ syndrome.

Just because you stay calm when the referee doesn't give a penalty, send their player off, disallow their goal does not make you rational. Rational should be used when watching football games. You should be biased, it's the rules or at least it should be. Their centre back (Kenton?) should have gone for that challenge and no mistake and had his freezing nipples tweaked.

Don't applaud the lineman's decisions, they are not linesmen. The day referees start treating them as equals is the day we do and they can arise from beneath the gutter to join the referees sat comfortably with splinters up their bottoms from all that fence sitting.

Rant over.

Intresting I used to stand with a PE teacher from Ripley on the North Stand but I wouldn't say he was a moaner he just used to watch the game more as a neutral than I did. Where as I go ballistic at everything he never used to.

Hmmm I wonder if it is the same person.

May I just say that Ripley St Thomas is very well known for it's succesful rugby and football teams. Dates going back many years show that they've won many Lancashire Cups and District Cups. Many more than any other school in this area. They have a right to say their piece as they pay their money.

But have they won FA Cups and played at the World Cup?

What a weird Fuc*** have you won FA cups and played at the World Cup? He's paid his money, he's allowed to have a say with his friends who he pays money with to go watch the game. No matter what people are always going to criticise.

I see no evidence offered to back up the above assumption. So it remains an assumption.

But have they won FA Cups and played at the World Cup?

If the answer to this question is ....'No but ---- ------- has' , then I believe the name
'Mark Wright' would be one (of many) correct answers.

Correct. And seeing as the thread was about the likes of PE teachers talking tactics and not the generalisation that they pay their money so they're entitled to an opinion (which they are) the point was perfectly valid.

Right that post was actually done sober believe it or not.

Anyhoo i wasn't trying to get at the 2 people directly and not all the points refer to them, i was just highly frustrated on Tuesday with the moaning, but hey people pay their money and all of that. If i would have posted on Tuesday night the expletives would have been good.

It was inspired by Jeff Stelling as covered on this very site viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1666&hilit=jeff+stelling

Talking about football would be rubbish surely if we all thought the same, but if we all left our houses with this song in our head on a match day imagine the possibilities..........................

Or maybe some are contented with this. I'm really sorry about this http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=FONt47Z0K ... re=related

Good call Mounse, especially the AC/DC track. Works for me.

That's why I asked MarkS if he could play Thunderstruck before the game one week, alas it didn't quite work :?

As for Celine's version I think that's the closest she's come to a song I might, (if pissed up and gate crashed on a hen party,) I just might "like" ;)

I wanted to get tickets to see AC/DC along with Carlisle Paul next year. When we saw the price of the tickets, on these rip-off legalised toughting agencies, £250 a ticket with a face value of £50!
We baulked, we'll go see Livewire next time!

They might not know it yet, but the guys going to Notts County today with me are going to get a blast of AC/DC!! :D
Hey if anyone wants to go I still have space ring me before 9:30 07878 175774

Are you mental, why do you think they are managers in the first place?? Because they know about football, thats why a P.E teacher is a P.E teacher becauase they know and specialise in Physical education. The evidence from my "assumption" is the fact Sammy is an experienced manager and the man in quesiton is a P.E teacher.....with yes believe it or not no experience as a professional football manager, does that clear it up
