Steve Jones the ex Leigh, Crewe and of late Burnley winger, who was often discussed on here as a target for JH has signed on loan for Bradford City prior to todays closure of the latest transfer window.
In addition Accy Stanley have secured another of former manager JH's targets Greg Blundell, often referred to as 'a street fighter' by the Irishman.
Jones would be an asset to any club in League 2 providing they could afford his probable high wage demands.

Looks like we've failed to sign anyone - on loan or otherwise.
Can't blame Sammy for this but he needs to be more ruthless in clearing out useless players so that we have plenty of room on our wage budget to attract the better players.

....and on recent performances, who do you class as useless?

If he'd done that, Yates, Stanley and McCann would have gone by now. They've been our best performers of late!!

Define "ruthless" - what more can he do than put them on the transfer list?

Agreed. Great bit of business by Bradford, if he's fit. I tipped him on here a while back on here for us to target with the Northern Irish connection but would suggest his wages would be out of our budget.
Didn't we get a 30k bid turned down for him when he was at Leigh?

I don't think we have missed out by not signing Jones or Blundell.
Both over 30 , Jones has just had a spell at Huddersfield which is a similar level to ourselves and didn't do very much.
Blundell has not exactly been scoring goals for fun and Darlington who already have Liam Hatch out injured were still willing to let him go.

I prefer to think that it's the skill of the managment team in their individual handling of players that determines whether a player is a success at a club or otherwise.
I can think of a number of our squad who had it not been for Sammy and Mark they would not be playing at FL level.
