Sky said Stelling's new role would not affect his commitments to Soccer Saturday or its live football coverage.

That came as a relief, a quality act is our Jeff, on the rare occasions I'm not at a match I'm quite happy to let Jeff keep me entertained on Sky Sports News. He has the ability to deliver exactly what you need to know with a bit of humour and some interesting facts along the way

Jeff Stelling is a genius.

But i wish he weren't doing Countdown. He needs to keep himself match fit for Soccer Saturday.

Next thing he'll be taking over from Brucey on the dancing thing.

I always remember him taking the banter well when he was behind us at Accy.

I am sure on the internet somewhere there is a Soccer saturday drinking game everytime Stelling says a certain phrase you have down a drink, must try it one saturday.

Anyone watched the annual show on Channel 4; Best & Worst places to live where the show (as the title suggests) rates the most desirable and least desirable places to live based on education, house-prices, quality of life etc?

Well last year I believe Middlesbrough was ranked as the worst place to live. Here is Stellings (a proud North East lad from Hartlepool) response:
