Ryan McGivern

First time I've seen the lad today. My did he play well on the left. Great vision and link up play. The drilled cross for the first goal was fab as was his finish for the second.

Am I right in thinking that he is a full international but that he was sent off against Scotland?

If so when was the last time we had a full international on our books? :)

Manchester City youngster Ryan McGivern is ready to leave Eastlands.
Although McGivern has featured in three of Northern Ireland’s last five games, having been handed a surprise debut against Scotland in August, he has yet to even make the bench for City’s first-team.

“I’m not sure how far I am from coming into Mark Hughes’ plans,” McGivern told the Belfast Telegraph.
“I am looking to get out on-loan at some stage and take it from there, see what happens.
“Reserve games only come around every couple of weeks so my aim is to get a club sorted for going out on-loan for maybe the rest of the season and get some first-team football.
“I want to stay in the Northern Ireland squad and I can’t expect the manager to be picking me playing in the reserves every two weeks. I need to be playing somewhere every Saturday .”

We have had former internationals before , Peter Sayer was one.

And we had Ray Charnley before he played for England and then we got him back at the end of his career.

Not sure if we have ever had a current international.

Yep, the young lad showed why he"s at a big club like Man City.Although young he adapted well and certainly had that little extra when on the ball hope he"s allowed to play in the cup saturday.Word of praise for Bazzar our goalkepper extrordinaire who makes penalty saving a speciality .What a difference his save made it shows if we get our noses in front, as last season, many teams find it hard to come back at us. The second half for Aldershot was all uphill and you could see there sprits drop.Thought Blackie gave a good performance and his applause to the North Stand at the start of the second half was well recieved.

TERRY MCFLYNN played for U19 + U21 Northern Ireland squad and from what I can gather 3 years after leaving Morecambe for Sydney is now being rumoured to being considered for the National 1st team World Cup qualifiers.
Didn't work out at Morecambe but what a difference it must be for him to be playing out there in a stadium only built in 2004 with a capacity of 45,500. Its a different world :!:

Spoke to him after the game, pleasant lad, certainly seems to have his head screwed on and hopefully he will be able to stay here a while longer under the wings of Sammy & Mark. Quite an in depth discussion evolved as he was standing his ground and making it quite clear to us that he is "Northern Irish" and not "Irish". Well done lad ;)

McGivern appears to be, at long last, the quality left sided player we need in the team. His cross for the first goal and the way he took the second goal, were pure class. Let's hope we can extend the loan deal at least until the new year.

They have played Ryan in the centre and on the right as well :P

I don't know if he is available for the FA Cup as City might not want him to? Although I have seen reports that we initially have him for a month and also have him till the end of the year, the City website says till November 23rd :?

we havent....per LB

Terry McFlynn was an Eire Under 23 player whilst with the club
Zico played for Northern Ireland Under 21 whilst with us
Ryan McGivern is the only player we have who has played a full international but hasntplayed a full international since joing us on loan if that makes sense
